Overall: This game is quite addictive! Its mostly about killing monsters and solving puzzles! It might not take long to beat, but they do include mini quests and bonus things afterwords.
Gameplay: Basically its all about killing monsters, by hacking and slashing at them. You occasionally shoot magic at them too! There are many puzzles withing the game, which also make it challenging. This may seem boring, but its extremely addictive.
Graphics: The graphics in this were quite pleasing. All the characters, and monsters looked quite different and very detailed. Although I don't like how mostly everything was dark. The scenery, and settings are very detailed too, but also mostly dark.
Sound: The sound was quite basic, all it really was is people talking, and things dieing, and screaming. Not too much variety in this, although when you land a hit its quite pleasing to hear.
Suggestions: Put some more magic attacks in here, as well as transformations.

Overall: its a hack and slash survivor horror kind of game. the story revolves around saving the princess but it is still very fun
Gameplay: like i said it is hack in slash. You get three swords throughout the game that have different elemental powers. theres lightning fire and wind. You can upgraid your items with the souls you steal from your defeated foes
Graphics: the graphics are ok nothing special..............................
Sound: i liked the music it was pretty good. the voice acting was ok. and the rest of the sounds were nothing special
Suggestions: you need to fix the controls they really made the game a lot harder than it should be in some parts.

Overall: I think this samurai game is pretty cool. HOwever i played the ps2 version first and it's the same so whatever..
Gameplay: Cool game, but once you beat it you probably won't be playing it much, at least not for a while when u might want to play it through once more.
Graphics: I thought the graphics were good. Character models were good and the cut scenes went together nicely.
Sound: Well it was alright. NOt really a big deal, didn't add or take away from the gameplay much. Seemed fine.
Suggestions: Make it longer. Add a mulitplayer and a 1 on 1 fighting mode just for replay value.

Overall: This game had me addicted to it,but that doesnt mean that everyone will enjoy it. I think that the people who will beefit the most from this title are fans of survival horror! They tried to put a tiny hint of rpg but failed terribly! The idea of upgrading your weapons was lame. If you find it for under 20 pounds buy it buy 35 is pushing it.
Gameplay: The game play was fun for about 3 hours till you saw what you were doing agian and agian, all it was was hack slash hack slash and repeat about 10 zillion times. The story plot was ok i guess. The bosses were good fun to beat not too hard but not too easy, I played it for three hours on normal mode got to the last boss and could'nt beat him so i had to start the whole game over agian which annoyed me! There were enimes that were impossible to beat, this game is alright for a mess around every now and again, im sayinfg this if you like survival horror! There are a few bits that feel arcadey which is where the developers have added mini games on to the quest that take about 30 mins to do and there are about 4 of them, they are fun.
Graphics: The graphics were lush and well worth my 15 pounds for the show! I love the graphics and the shadows were done very well! Most of the game is set at night but when you do see it in day wow is it good. The developers used alot of fire in this game and they did it very well! Thank you developers for such great graphics.
Sound: The music/sound was annoying you heard the same music for 4 hours none stop! That was the let down of this game. The sounds when you hit the enemys sounded the same on them all, even when you hit armour it sounded the same as when you hit flesh?why?
Suggestions: Add some depth to the game not all hack slash hack slash and so on.Man when i heard that sound of onimusha's sword hitting a monsters flesh one more time i'am going to scream!

Overall: I didn't like it enough to try and finish it. I was not impressed with this game. The story line is there and the graphics are okay, but the backdrop sucks, the fighting scenes suck, the camera angle sucks, etc... The cut scenes are good, like a movie, but overall actually walking through the buildings and outside are nothing to write home about. You don't have to have much of a strategy to play the game, just slash, slash, slash. I was bored. I won't be purchasing this game. It did nothing for me. I like being up close and personal with the enemies when I fight them, not high above them.
Gameplay: Hmmm, slash, slash, forward, more slashing...... maybe run down a corridor or into a cave....... slash, slash, slash, etc.... not cutting edge. Maybe they should have just left in on PS2.
Graphics: I know the game is fantasy with monsters and demons galore, but adding that touch of realism brings a lot to the table. The game doesn't have that X Factor for me. Realism, awesome graphics, detailed characters, scenery, backdrops, etc. are what make a game great.
Sound: Nothing to complain about here. The sound was good. I could hear everything and the music was pleasant to listen to.
Suggestions: Go look into some of the other games that XBox has brought to the table, then go back and improve on some important elements that this game seems to be lacking. Capcom can do better.

Gameplay: when it first caught my eye I was like I need this game !!!I played it at my friends house it was simply amazing!!
Graphics: The visuals are oustanding on this game compared to its protocessor on Ps2. Amazing detail in the Charaters and more realistic battle invironments.

Gameplay: Hack & Slash/upgrade weapons so you can Hack & Slash better! Hack & Slash/upgrade weapons so you can Hack & Slash better! So on and so fourth...
Graphics: I hate games that cheat, they use the still picture in the background. It shows me that they are *#^@ing lazy. OH WAIT, my bad this is a GayStation game, that's why it sucks!

Overall: One of the better games I've played on the Xbox so far. Great storyline and fighting system. At the beginning it's very hard but once you get used to it's a great game. You could easily but this game on a 5-day rental though, as it is only 5 hours long (but that's if you don't get any extras/secrets).
Gameplay: Very fun gameplay, but sometimes it can be frustrating when you fight certain enemies, but most of the time it's awesome!
Graphics: Since this is a port from the PS2 version, the graphics aren't all that good compared to other Xbox games. Some things just suck (the orbs on doors look like they are from Zelda/N64). However the FMV's in this game are AWESOME.
Sound: The voiceovers in this game are great (the only problem is that their mouths don't sync and I'm guessing it's because this game wasn't originally made in the USA). Everything else is fine.
Suggestions: Fix the camera angles, maybe make game a bit longer.

Overall: My first question about the game is : Does it supposed to be a rpg or an horror game ? Truly i didn't know because it's look like a kind of rpg but it's a Horor game. Sure that i have plenty of question that burnig my lips like : Why Genma Onimusha is supposed to be a must have ? I was waiting a bit before renting this game and curiously its was a good choice to wait. Yes i know that you all want the story but in fact it doesn't interest me because she is too basic. Did you remember Mario on your old Nintendo ? What was his story ? Of course it was and it will always be : saving the princess Peach. But wait a minute who's care about Mario when we are playing Genma Onimusha ? It's simple, it's is because they got the same story. We are in a new millenium and we are not able to find a story that are complicated, oh my god so we are pitiful !
Gameplay: The gameplay look like Resident Evil with samourai. Probably it's sound good to you, but not to me. When i past like fifteen minute in a place to kill all the ennemis, i don't want to be back and there are back too. How can we attack ? Simply you take your orbs and blast other evils with your magic, but why did they give only three of them ? The worse thing in that game is the fluorite. Imagine, you can see them but when you push the A button everywhere you can probably find one. It'ss stupid because you must find them all to finish the cd and there are too tough to find without the walkthrough.
Graphics: I never saw a background that look like that before, they took pictures to do it. Dude we are able to do great suff with our technology and you are keeping that sort of technic for your video games. Come on, i was able to see greater stuff from you Capcom. Visual also take part of the character and my word to describe it, its ok !
Sound: Wow ! The orchestral soundtrack is top notch and a perfect fit for the atmosphere of Onimusha. All of the necessary sounds are there. Swords clang, Samanosuke grunts, and the air cracks with electricity when his thunder magic is unleashed. While Genma is a survival horror game, the sound doesn't push it to the level of Resident Evil. You don't hear demons lurking in nearby rooms, moaning or dragging their feet. The game never gets creepy. For an action game, the sound is good, but Capcom should have gone the extra step to truly frighten us.

Suggestions: I want more orbs, no picture background to see the fluorites and a multiplayer.

Overall: If you want a great action game, Genma Onimusha is the game to get. This game lasts much longer then the PS2 version did, but it is over pretty quick. Thus, the game will keep you on the edge of your seat and when it's over, you'll be begging for more.

Gameplay: In Genma Onimusha, you play a masterless samurai named Samanosuke Akechi who is accompanied by his female friend Kaede (yes, hot Japanese babe with short skirt). The plot: Demons come to earth to capture Princess Yuki and Yumemaru, her little brother, for a sacrifice the demons want to perform. Your job is to fight through levels of demons and monsters to get to the end and save the princess. Easy as pie? Not really, the game takes hours to beat, but luckily you can save your game at designated save points. When you first start, you'll try to run forward and you won't go anywhere for ten minutes. Then you realize this isn't Halo, and you have to use the digital pad, not the analog stick. When you first start, the controls are a bit odd to get used to, mainly because you use pretty much every button during combat one way or another. But as the game progresses, you'll become a much better fighter. Another thing you'll notice in the game is in "third person". The camera automatically switches shots while you move, kind of like the cameras are on set mounts and can't be moved. This also takes some getting used to.

Graphics: Genma Onimusha is actually the revamped version of Onimusha: Warlords for PS2. The game is pretty much a straight port graphics wise. Aside from slightly cleaner textures, the game looks the same as it did on PS2. The most impressive parts of the graphics are in the cutscenes. The CG is smooth, crisp and extremely well done.

Sound: Genma Onimusha does support Dolby 5.1 surround sound. Although, during gameplay, the game doesn't really take advantage of the surround. In fact, the only part that really utilizes the surround sound would be the cutscenes.

Overall: I think that this was a very fun game. The only problem was the length of the game. I think when I finished it, it said that i played for 5 or 6 hours. It leaves you wanting more.
Gameplay: The game play was good, the control was easy to catch on to. The only problem was the camera. Sometimes someone would shoot you with an arrow and the camera has not shown them yet. It was a good slashing game, a loved how you can stab the demons while they where on the ground.
Graphics: The visual looked good to me everything looked smooth. The backgrounds look good also the enemies and blood.
Sound: The sound was good, the way you could hear demons walk around added to the feel of the game.
Suggestions: Make the game longer everything else is good.

Overall: i wanted THPS3, but they didn't have it. so i got this... BIG MISTAKE... i'm disappointed in Capcom. this is just Samurai Resident Evil. horrible. The controls (NO ANALOG!)and camera views ruin this game. Being a direct port from PS2, i didn't expect much... but i expected more than this! once you die like a bazillion times, it gives you an option to START THE GAME ALL OVER AGAIN ON EASY... the thing is... Easy is the same as Normal! same amount of enemies. same amount of hits to kill them. Stay away. This game belongs beside Obiwan and Azurik.
Gameplay: You move around in pre-rendered backgrounds, using the D-pad while you fight god like monsters with your wuss sword. Capcom must hate us. Like i mentioned, this game has the same layout as Resident Evil. Push a button to open doors and walk up stairs. Load screen after Load Screen. Foreshame.
Graphics: well, the best thing about this game are the CG cut scenes. even though the intro was long, it was well done. in game graphics look good... but like most games, lip sync with voices is as bad as 70s kung foo movies. gah.
Sound: slash. hack. ouch. ouch. died. did i forget something? oh yes... bad voice acting. Roar, this game sounds bad too.
Suggestions: don't port the sequel. give us something else, like Ape Escape 2.

Overall: Right on the front of the box, there are "Japanese" characters as many of u would say, however that is incorrect. in fact those characters behind "Genma Onimusha" on the box are chinese characters which mean "Phantom Ghost". overall a great game tho.
Gameplay: Hard-ass game. u gotta get used to the controls and the enemies are just really hard to beat. some of the bosses are really hard also. i don't think i got too far, becasue my friend was much farther ahead of me when he transfered his game via mem. card.
Graphics: the environments are awesome in the game. in fact, I played the PS2 version of the game and u can tell that the xbox version is superior. however PS2 has onimusha 2 and we dont. I hope we get it soon.
Sound: umm not much here. infact i really didn;t pay too much attention to this part... i just well nevermind.. ill just give it a good rating.

Overall: How to phrase this without ruining things I'll cover in later headings...hmmm...

Genma Onimusha is a port of the best selling Playstation2 title of the same name. But this goes beyond a simple console port. This is a total game rehash. Having played Onimusha on the Playstation2 for a limited amount of time, I've noticed quite a few differences, most of them for the better.

Capcom produced this title, and if there's two things Capcom knows well it's survival/horror (Resident Evil) and beating people up (Marvel vs. Capcom series, among SO many others). Genma Onimusha combines the two to provide the perfect balance of action and survival/horror, making a very entertaining single player game that is definately good for a renting, or, if you don't have much time to be playing games during the week, buy it. It's worth your hard earned $50. It's not a great way to show off the X-Box's power, but it's still one hell of a fun game.
Gameplay: The first really big difference I noticed from the original Ps2 version is the addition of a "charge up attack." You hold the attack button and your weapon begins to glow. The longer you hold it, the more it glows. After it reaches it's third power level you can unleash a much stronger attack than usual that's very useful for clearing out big enemies.
Another big addition to the XBox port is the added sidequest for the Ogre armor. Played the game but don't know what I'm talking about? That's probably because you've been reading the PS2 walkthrough ;-) This sidequest is long, but rewarding, and doesn't feel like something extra tacked onto the game. It feels natural, and had I not known it wasn't in the PS2 version to begin with, I certainly would have thought that it was part of the original game. This sidequest took me a good 4 or 5 extra hours to complete, adding more total playtime to the game. The more you play, the better vaule it is for your money right? The guys at Capcom sure know this and went that extra distance to add more stuff to their port.
The actual game itself feels just like a Resident Evil type of game. Backgrounds are pre-redered, but unlike other RE games, these backgrounds are animated. Simple, but it makes a big difference. The camera angles are dramatic without ever becoming awekward. The one big exception that sets Genma Onimusha apart from Resident Evil is that you use a sword and not a gun. This means you don't have to worry about conserving your ammo and you can, and are absolutely encouraged to beat the snot out of everything that stands in your way. This is definately a change for the better since I hate having to run down streets and through halways in RE and NOT shoot things, simply because I know I have to save my ammo.
When enemies die in Genma Onimusha their souls hover around which you must syphon into your magic gauntlet. Once you have enough, you can exchange them for weapon and item upgrades at save points. At the same time, enemies can absorb souls and go berserk, so you have to be fast. This adds a great addition to the battle system and gives you more reason to beat everything up, since later in the game you'll definately need the enhanced power.
Play control in Onimusha is good. The default button settings are just fine. You play with the analog pad, 5 of the 6 main buttons, and the two shoulder triggers.
The puzzle element found in RE style games is alive and well in Genma Onimusha as well. I love solving puzzles after a good killing, and then going back to kill more baddies. The swapping of mental states really helps make the game that much easier to endure.
The game is short however. I played it for about 15 hours, completing every sidequest. Still, no Xbox gamer with a free weekend should go without renting Genma Onimusha, especially if they're the only one who uses the XBox. It's just too much fun.
Graphics: Capcom knows environments. The world that you battle through is expansive, and all connected. Get a key, open a door, move on, but you still have to come back to do other things. Navigating through the levels is made easy by having every "board" very different looking. The map option is pretty useless. I never use it. I rely on my memory and the vast varying environments aid in that.
The backgrounds are pre-rendered, animated, and !&%$@#* good looking. The XBox version of Genma Onimusha uses Bink video technology, which allows for close to DVD quality video to be compressed much smaller. More room on the disc for those extra enhancements. They're really sweet backgrounds which range from destroyed buildings, lavish forests, and a hellacious underworld, all with a fine attention to detail.
Character and enemy models are well detailed as well. I'm not sure if they're using the 480p HDTV rendering feature, but they sure look like it. Well textured and very complex models that move realistically add to the immersive feel of the game. Light falls off of these models very realistically, and there are plenty of moving lights in the game since every soul glows and every hit creates a spark.
The camera angles help add to a visually stimulating experience, although some angles make combat difficult as you skip between the two.
The animation is smooth. Super smooth. I never noticed a frame drop, even with 6 or so enemies on the screen. This means I can kick butt and never stall out. The FMVs are very nice. Most of the cutscenes are engine rendered in-game movies, but they're beyond any engine rendered cutscenes I've seen since the characters all move their lips when they talk. However, if you play the game in english, the sync will naturally be off since the characters were all speaking japanese in the original version. I opted to play the game in Japanese simply to get the intended experience.
Sound: Dolby 5.1 is where it's at with the XBox and I'm glad to see so many game designers taking full advantage of it. Now I can creep myself out even more as I can HEAR monsters walking up behind me, and things breaking and dying all around me in perfectly crystal clear sound.

The background music is very fitting for the game. Old Kabuki style music, mixed with Resident Evil style drama chord BGMs that never overpower the happenings in the game, unless of course the designers wanted to, such as when a monster breaks down a door or something and scares the bejeezus out of you. Then you get a delightful power chord followed by some good high energy fight music. Then when everything's good and dead the music fades, not cuts, but FADES into the calmer BGM again. Nice touch. Totaly seamless.

Sound effects are great. An enemy blocks, you get a clang of metal. He blocks with a wooden shield, it's metal on wood. He gets hit, well, you'll know when you hit something. Especially when you stab an enemy on the ground. You can almost hear the bones crunch under the pressure of the blade as you tear into the enemy's demonic flesh. Graphic? Oh you betcha. Survival horror games aren't exactly all about being censored so if you're killing something, it's gonna sound like it.

The game comes with two audio tracks. One in english, and one in Japanese. Both are in stereo and both are well done. They're well recorded and well acted on a whole. I just wish they could have carried over the dialogue to the FMVs and made them bilingual, and added some audio. The XBox has DVD playback capabilities and game designers should !&%$@#* well take advantage of them. Speaking of FMVs, it sounds like the audio in the FMVs was converted to Dolby 5.1 as well. It's very apparent that stuff is going on in the rear channels, especially in the opening cinematic.

Suggestions: Stretch it out a little more, or give me a good reason to play through the game again once I beat it.

Overall: Well since I already played the first one on PS2 I knew this game well. The only thing different was different enemies placed in the same spots, and the green souls allowing you to be invincible for about 5-6 seconds.
Gameplay: Game play was the same as the first one with the exception that it seemed to me that Genma Onimusha was a tad bit harder than the first one on PS2. I liked it though except for one part and for those of you who have played it you know what I?m talking about, the one thing I hate throughout the whole game is??????.The DOLL!!! I LOATHE the doll!!!!! Impossible to kill and avoid. The doll I found to be very annoying and oh,- how I wanted to kill the doll. I wanted to kill the doll so bad I could taste the demon blood dripping from my sword?? oh sorry.
Graphics: Visually it didn?t really look much better than the PS2 version, yeah it looked a little better on the XBOX to me but that is because I played the XBOX version on my PHILIPS 25? component video TV, and the PS2 version on my new (at the time) 19? regular TV (run through the RCA plugs on the VCR).
Sound: Sound on the other hand was a cool thing. On the PS2 version I had only had PCM sound that was run through my optical cable but still it was basically beefed up Dolby Prologic. Now on my XBOX I got to push my system and use it to its potential and use Dolby Digital AC3 surround?much better!!!!! I could hear where things were moving and so on!!!!
Suggestions: Well nice job on the remake and next time NO MORE DOLL or possessed objects made of porcelain!!!!

Overall: I wasn't impressed with the screenshots on the back of the box, but I decided to give this a try anyway. I'm a fan of games involving swordfighting and since this is a Capcom game I had high expectations. The storyline wasn't very engrossing despite the nicely done cinema. This game seems like a cross between Resident Evil, Silent Hill 2, and Devil May Cry - with only a few of the fun elements from each. To be totally honest, I didn't play the game very long. I took it out of my Xbox and swore never to touch it again. The time I did spend playing, I couldn't really understand why there was a warning about "Excessive Blood and Gore". This game has nothing on Silent Hill 2. It had no suspense at all, just go through the door at the end of the room, kill some guys, repeat.
Gameplay: The controls were great. It was very easy to move about environments and the attack system worked out well. I tired quickly of the hack-n-slash through the zombie demons though. The fights were exciting, but very repetitive. This game was way too linear for my taste. It seemed that in a lot of places the object was to get from one end of the room to the other (while solving puzzles and finding items in between). I hate it when a game tries to hide objects behind trees or plants and doesn't give you the option for a 1st person view (like the character wouldn't be able to see them!?) I was annoyed that I couldn't use my left analog stick to move around. This game reminds me a lot of the early CD based games that would use actual pictures for background environments while you played in the foreground. There was practically no interaction with the background (with the exception of treasure chests and save points). Also, don't you hate it when the main characater can't jump over a 1 foot high stone or something? Why is that? Because the developer is too lazy to make a "jump" function?!
Graphics: The graphics were not bad, though this game doesn't meet the standards set by Halo and Dead or Alive 3. Even as well as the environments looked, they still seemed fuzzy or just kind of plain looking. The greatest moment of impression was during the cutscene after you start the game where it shows a great battle taking place. The graphics of Devil May Cry stand out more than this game does.
Sound: The sound was good. I didn't hear anything that was annoying or repetitive. The music was done well to fit the mood and time period. Other than a few nice SFX from swordfights, nothing really stood out as impressive.
Suggestions: Focus more on how much fun the game is to play instead of just impressive visuals and storyline. Multiple paths to travel, different swordfighting moves, more objects and weapons to find. This game seems like a cheap knockoff of Devil May Cry.

Overall: This game kicks major ass, the only reason it didnt get a 5 was because of the camera, which has a bad habit of causing many-a-death on my part
Gameplay: gameplays all there, good targeting system, nice array of weapons, guns,5 swords (katana, bishamon, fire, wind, lightning)
Graphics: great graphics, great backgrounds, i love the one place where you can cut down trees and walking down the big ramp at the end when the wall poops out reynaldos at you
Sound: nice sound effects, plenty of "steel cutting through living flesh and bone" noises, and the semi-slurp noise the gauntlet makes when it takes in a soul is sweet
Suggestions: longer, more swords & armor, and maybe somehow integrate multi-player and co-op

Overall: This game is really good game. The graphics are stunning and gameplay is great. If only it were longer.
Gameplay: The gameplay is incredibly easy. everything is placed at easy to use spots. Movement it very smooth though when swinging a sword, there are some glitches. besides that, its awesome
Graphics: The graphics are amazing. Again when slashing, its looks a little out of place. the movies in the movie are perfect, almost real.

Sound: the sound could be a little better. the people still talk japenese but the words are english. thats a little wierd. the soundeffect are so so and the backround music could have more at sometimes.
Suggestions: Make it longer!!!!

Overall: I couldn't disagree with the staff review more. Genma is not just for Resident Evil hardcore fans because I love it!! I've never played RE so this is a new type of game experience for me and I found it quite challenging and fun. Newcomers to this type of game should try it before passing judgement. Limited save points, tough bosses and lots of enemies at points make it a challenging and fun game.
Gameplay: There are a few things that need some work in this department, mainly the camera angles. Most of the time, the pre-rendered backgrounds and chosen angle are fine, but when you're fighting a boss they can be downright annoying and bad. There are many times where, if you don't move (blindly I might add), you won't even see yourself getting slashed to death. This really needs fixed. But other areas of gameplay are great. I think the limited save points were deliberate...to make it tougher....and I like that idea. I'd rather be challenged than have it spoon-fed to me. The fighting is easy to pick up..although the magic seems to run out quickly :) Puzzles are thought out and well placed mostly...I loved the variation of the Indiana Jones tile stepping room and the decoding of the questions. The only other quibble I have with the game is the use of the D-pad...I'd have rather had use of the stick. On a different note, I'd like to know how all these folks are beating this game in 5 hours...I've been playing almost 20 and haven't finished yet. I must really suck....The game length really doesn't matter to me as long as it plays well, and this one does.
Graphics: Not terrible, but not full-on Xbox quality either. The movies are fantastic but in-game models are a bit blocky and textures can be flat..I guess that's the PS2 heritage coming out :) All in all, pretty good here.
Sound: Great atmosphere music!! The wife thought I was watching a movie when I was playing the first time...the background music really does sound like a movie score. I think it actually HAS a soundtrack that you can buy!
Suggestions: Get rid of the D-pad and fix those sloppy camera angles please

Overall: I like the idea of going back to ancient japan and kicking some demon ass, but this game wont appeal to resident evil fans. The game will appeal to people who like Crouching Tiger and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3. The game is too short and it lacks in the fun department. Hacking up demons and stealing souls can only be fun for so long. Genma stays away from the puzzles as well as the scary parts in the game that make you jump when something unexpected pops out at you. A couple new things for the xbox is the annoying doll that slashes you to pieces, monsters, and of course the name of the game.
Gameplay: The controls are like any other RE game. Some parts in the game you have to mash the buttons so hard you break the controller, like I did. The main character Samonosuke can turn on a dime. You shouldn't have any trouble with the controls.
Graphics: The background and the CG movies are great. The only thing that is a hold back in this game is the camera angles. Sometimes you get slashed up by demons around the corner and you can't see them.
Sound: The sound is awesome. The orchestra based music and voice overs fit the game perfectly. The slashing and stabbing sounds real as well.
Suggestions: More puzzels and get rid of the annoying doll

Overall: I agree with the staff review; unless your crazy about Resident Evil style games this is not the game for you. Also, haven't I seen this soul consumption somwhere before? Hmmmm. Seems to me that game was a lot more fun.
Gameplay: I'm going up. NOW LOADING. No, I'm going down. NOW LOADING. No, I'm going left. NOW LOADING. I'm going down again. NOW LOADING.

Sum: awkward controls, too much loading time and it's distracting to switch camera angles during a fight.
Graphics: Definitely some nice visuals especially in the intro. Sometimes the backgrounds feel really flat. Flat backgrounds could use a little contrast.
Sound: Didn't notice anything special. Nothing that added an element of suspence. English voices are a little weak.

Overall: I like this title I was able to set the voice to Japanese yet word in english so I could review my Japanese. But The game has a sweet Story .It get relly hard at part but a will Say it left a good impresstion.
Gameplay: Liek I said it has a reallly great story put its gameplay made me think of a 90s game.the camrea angles screw it up.The controlls were the weirdest cause they jsut never ajusted to you spot. But intead forward is alway forward even wene your facing back
Graphics: Great, but There was alot a videos and they were just great.yet there are too many of them. But in game could be better but still good.Specialy for a port.
Sound: I was very avreage nothing special but it doesn't really leave an impresstion. It has a real japanese feel.

Overall: this game is really cool. it was originally a ps2 game, and is essentially an updated port. it has a new color of soul (green soul) and its a lot harder. any gamer who likes really cool looking swords and who likes destroying legions of demons with them wil really like this game.
Gameplay: the gameplay is the most important factor in any game, and capcom really knows it. the combat system is the best part of this game. you lock on to a demon with R, and this works great. for anyone who played the old n64 zelda games, its like that only better. L blocks, and X attacks. you can charge attacks over three levels, and each level adds a glowing layer of lightning to your sword. you have 3 different magic orbs, and each has its own magic attack that it adds to your sword used by pressing Y. these can be charged too. this combat system is one of the best i've ever used and it NEVER gets old. i read somewhere that you start hoping that there will be a horde of monsters around the next corner, and its -so- true.
Graphics: the visuals are basically ps2, but that isnt bad at all. they are really very good. they dont really push the xbox, but hey, they look dam good. the swords are some of the coolest i've ever seen. your normal sword is a basic katana, samurai sword. it by itself is really sweet. then you start getting orbs, and each orb has its own sword. the lightning sword is a cross between a scimitar and a katana, making a long, curved blue sword. the fire orb sword is a two handed sword. it is dam cool. the coolest sword by far is the wind sword. it is a haft with two curved blades, kinda like maul's lightsaber. trust me, if you think swords are cool, this game is for you. that part really doesnt belong under visual, but what the hell. you will not be disappointed at all with the graphics in this game, they look sufficiently scary and beautiful at the same time.
Sound: right on. every clash of swords and every soul sucked up sounds just right. no sound is over-repeated and the music is nice and gloomy. it gets you in a real desperate/ready to take on the world mood.good job capcom.
Suggestions: hmm, the games a little short. i guess the only way to expand it would be more levels, but i dont think they could've had many more levels without them being superfluous. it'll take you like 10 hours the first time through, and you may want to beat it again. i rented it for a couple weeks, and spend 15 bucks, so if your video store has good rates, go for that. otherwise it may be worth a buy.

Overall: This game is pretty fun my friends. It can get very addicting. The overall story and gameplay is lots of fun. With this type of game you play and then look at the clock and realize you have been playing for hours.
Gameplay: At first when I began playing this game I wasn't sure If I would like it. The controls when walking around seemed a bit weird. However once I got into the action parts of the game I truly loved it. The storyline is awsome and the gameplay is so much fun. Very tough though at first. At least until you get a good handle on the controls.
Graphics: The graphics are really cool. I really like the attention given to the characters. The backgrounds are pretty good to.
Sound: The sound is great. Especially during the action parts of the game.
Suggestions: Keep up the good work

Overall: Wow, this game is great. It is the first xbox title since Halo that I have been even patially captivated with.
Gameplay: The gameplay is exelent. The feeling of impaling a demon is enthralling. I would recomend this game to anyone who enjoys action. The only drawback is those !&%$@#* puzzles.
Graphics: The Visuals are good, but not xbox good. Capcom really could have wowed us by fully utilizing the xbox hardware. Instead, they delivered PS2-like graphics. Still relitivley beautiful though
Sound: The sound is one of the game's strong points. From the authentic sounding voice acting to the cries of the demonic warriors.
Suggestions: Very well done, keep up the good work.

Overall: THIS Game kicks !&%$@#* I've already played it on playstation 2. Boy let me tell you it is a lot longer on the XBox version also graphics are better but short of the power that the XBox can do. I do own a playstation 2 this game is better on the XBox. Come on Playstation 2fans lets be honest to the public. The XBOX version is better.
Gameplay: The game play is pretty tight it is just like playing resident evil. but more of a slashing type game.
Graphics: Looks very good but i just do not under stand why the developers do not take advantage of the XBox power. there hurting themselves it looks like they do not know how to use the extra capablity of the XBoxs power.
Sound: 5.1 surrond sound what do you think? Just great. To the clashing of the swords to just about everything in the game.
Suggestions: Ya lets start using the XBOX power to show every body how much power the system really has . Thank god for Activision who is bringing out Wreckless to show everybody how great the Xbox really is.

Overall: Since I do not own the PS2 this is my first experience playing this game. So far it has exceded my expectations completely. The graphics are beautiful and the game play is very challenging. Any person reviewing this game who says they finished it in 6 hours should put it back on the regular difficulty and stop acting like this game is so easy. I have finished almost every game worth playing on the Xbox, and this game is pretty hard compared to most of those games. This game is all it should be, eye candy and emersive. However, I would highly recommend renting this game rather than buying it since the replay value is not very great like most games of this genre i.e. Resident Evil. If you are a huge fan of survival horror games, which I am not, then you should definately buy this title.
Gameplay: The game play on this game is kind of awkward at first but after 1/2 an hour or so the controls get easier to deal with. My problem lies in the fact that I play Halo so much I keep wanting to use the analog stick to move with. The battle for the green souls can be very frustrating especially when you are fighting multiple enimies. If they get the green soul first they will become more powerful. This can be a problem when 2 or 3 weeker demons suddenly turn red and start raging on your outnumbered ass. When your character has 5 green souls saved up you can hit the black and white buttons and become invincible for a short time, this is good when up against multiple opponents. Mostly aggresive hacking and slashing will get you through but learning how to use the block button, though difficult, is worth the effort for the later levels.
Graphics: Are you kidding, this is what I bought the Xbox for. The graphics on this game kick ass. End of story...
Sound: Good enough for a video game. While there have been better soundtracks and effects in games, those present in this game will not disappoint you. I would suggest leaving the Japanese voices on with English subtitles. It makes for a more authentic experience.
Suggestions: Lose the set camera and go to a free moving camera that can be adjusted on the fly (Mario 64 style)

Overall: Finally a game I can't beat in 2 hours!! As a fan of first person shooters I was'nt very happy with the game play, the screen rotation seemed off somehow, and not very player friendly. The challenge of the game is an improvement. Along with the story line, which was also well thought up "Asian folklore has become very appealing to many American's recently with the arrival of Jet Li." With the great challenge the game provides along with the interesting story line, it makes up for the poor game play.
Gameplay: As a fan of first person shooters, the I wasn't fond of the gameplay style. "Not user friendly." Hard to play when all you see is the back of the demon that's killing you.
Graphics: For a next generation gaming console, I did'nt see that much change in grafics. The game seemed to move along better with the grafics that other consoles would lag on.
Sound: Nothing I haven't heard before in my past ten years of gameing.......The sound did'nt seem any differnet than any Play Station One games I played years ago.
Suggestions: ....
