Overall: THPS3 is one addition in the THPS series for Xbox. This version comes with sweet maps (including Canada YES!!), awesome moves, and great music. One of the best in the series!
Gameplay: The gameplay in THPS almost identical to THPS2, although everything is faster and more realistic, but still unrealistic enough that you can grind the corner of the building 30 feet off the ground (but whos complaining about that?).
Oh and theres character customization. That rules.
Graphics: The graphics in THPS3 are a nicer cleaner version then 2. While there are not many drastic changes, the game still has its usual skater/troublemaker theme and does it well.
Sound: The music in this game is the best ever in a Tony Hawks game ever (did i mention ever?). The witty comments made by extras are also quite funny, and the sound effects are typical (no complaining neccesary).
Suggestions: Some live features!!!

Overall: this is probably the best skating game you will find... it does not go crazy with side goals, or stupid so called innovations... like thps4 and underground... to appreciate the thps series play thps3.
Gameplay: skating.... pure skating, and it works... the simplicity is what makes everything run so smooth... great for a laugh, or multiplay swing... definative stuff
Graphics: good at the time, but outdated now, but visuals must be very detailed and boast great effects to impress on an xbox.
Sound: just about average, effects are nice... music is okay, and well... everything falls together quite comfortably... but it could all be just a bit more fine-tuned

Overall: People who read my comments might see a bit of a trend in them, namely that there are few games I've played that I haven't taken a severe disliking to. Tony Hawk 3 doesn't break the trend, although it does vary on the pattern a little. It started out being a little fun, I will give it that. Exploring the levels and getting a feel for the layout is a fun endeavour, but it starts to come undone once you try to make some kind of progress in the game.

One of the problems lies in the tricks. Sure, it's all well and good to try spinning through the air at a million miles an hour, but the impression soon sets in that the impossibility of landing without falling rises in direct proportion to how high a points total you have accumulated. On the second level, you find yourself listening to constant taunts from people on the sidelines, and that is where the game undoes itself. Instead of showing the player a good time as games are supposed to do, the game instead tries to make you feel as bad as it possibly can about being "unco". When your player suffers intermittent twitchings as a side effect of too many prescription drugs for bipolar disorder, this is a very bad road to go down. I have to wonder what is coming next from the Tony Hawk camp. Perhaps Tony Hawk insult machine is on its way?
Gameplay: In the defense of this game, the actual motion and steering feel quite natural. The makers of turkeys like Midtown Madness 3 or Project Gotham Racing would do well to sit and observe the smooth, free feel that Tony Hawk 3 gives the player. Instead of frustration, the basic mechanisms of motion in this game are transparent and utterly in the background. Rather than agonising over how you're going to turn into that corner or grind that rail, once you know the basics, you just do it. That's something all programmers could learn from, really.

Sadly, where it all comes crashing down is in the level designs. I don't know how manic Tony was when he suggested these layouts, but something tells me that with his Herculean delusions of what the professional skater is able to do, he needs his medication changed, post-haste. Many of the tricks and combinations necessary for simple forward progress in the game are enough to hurt the hands of even the most flexible gamer. I suspect that only the pro skater is going to be able to figure out exactly how to pull off some of the feats demanded of the player, and they have better things to do, anyway.

To summarise, the game has an excellent basic engine that allows total freedom of movement rather than annoyance. When a linear goal structure is imposed, however, it stops being fun in a big hurry. Tony Hawk would do well to dig up an old Commodore 64 and play an old skating game called 720. It was as unrealistic as hell, but the key difference was that it was just as much fun six hours after one started playing as it was five minutes after commencement of play.
Graphics: As a game, Tony Hawk 3 makes an excellent skating video. All the visual elements are nice and lovely, with only the occasional interlacing artefact to dampen the visual experience. The first level, a foundry, is an excellent example of just how far things have come since I was introduced to my first video game based around skateboarding. Molten metal is convincingly, not necessarily realistically, rendered. Snow is also well done in the next level. About the only environmental element that doesn't feel right is the water, but that's one thing that will probably never be realistically done in a video game.

The options to customise the skater are especially welcome. Being able to have a skater who stands about 5'8" tall and weighs 210 pounds is one of the highlights of the game. All in all, aside from there being too many signs of interlacing for my liking, I just cannot fault this game for the visuals.
Sound: I mentioned earlier that one level contains way too many people whose sole point is to remind you as annoyingly as possible how bad you are at the game. As if we really needed that. Aside from this one annoyance, however, the audio has no serious problems. You get the occasional environmental sound effect, a lot of grinding noises, and the odd non-irritating voiceover. That's all well and good. To be honest, this is not the sort of game where audio is going to be a major highlight.

A big thumbs up goes to the programmers for including the custom soundtrack option. While the provided soundtrack is a long way from being comprised of radio drivel, it is too far over the place to really find an audience. At least when one programs their own music into the game, it has some consistency. This is also the best implementation of the custom soundtrack option that I have seen to date. The randomising function makes the music truly random. The only complaint I have is that the time one spends in the levels means that unless the music you program in comes in at under two minutes, you're going to have to be prepared for the music to be cut off just as you're getting into it.
Suggestions: It's hard to think of suggestions when a game is actually fun but annoying at the same time. First, I would scrap the level designers and go with the philosophy of Doom or Quake, putting together the levels in such a manner so that every part is accessible through normal motions. Secondly, I would suggest recognising that not all players are so glued to their X-Box that they can just master every game instantly. Some of us have better things to do than prove we can instantly pull great moves out of our butts. Finally, different styles of gaming would be appreciated. In Skate Or Die, you still had to put together combinations of moves or tricks, but you could also race or joust, just to name two fun variations. Include something like that, and maybe this game will gain some replay value.

Overall: I think this is better than Tony Hawk 4 by far. I love this game and still play it even though live games are dominating.
Gameplay: Fun game. You can get some sick scores at certain levels. Enjoy playing this game a lot. Dont think ill get sick of it. Its just that type of game.
Graphics: Could be better with the power of the Xbox i think but it sticks with the traditional Tony Hawk look for games so i like it.
Sound: Sounds sweet. Hear grinds and difference when riding on different surfaces. So its got all it needs.

Gameplay: The controlls are nere flawless in this game. A new move called the revert has been added which allows you to keep combos going off of vert tricks which is very helpfull
Graphics: Good graphics. Its still a port from ps2 and shows. The awesome grass from 2x is gone and i dont know why.
Sound: Follows in the path of the other Hawk series with great music. A lot more songs then the second one. Also supports custom soundtrack

Overall: Tony Hawk one was good, but the series has gone downhill from there. Soon Tony is going to be doing tricks in his wheelchair the tricks are so unlifelike.
Gameplay: Controls were annoying in their set up so i had to reconfigure about 8 times. They need to have more liflike tricks though.
Graphics: Good, a little bit blocky though. A big improvement in thiscategory over last years game. They have too many Tony Hawk games out there though.
Sound: The people are so annoying. I was driven to the verge of insanity from hearing nice try eh inthe canada level.

Graphics: very good, no volumectric grass as in 2x....but the models look very good, i saw the playstation verison of this game and i realized how much better a 128 bit system is than a 64

Graphics: the grapics are very good, the levels are nicely detailed and the skaters are good, and skateboards are greatly detailed and pick your grip tape and stuff.

Gameplay: The speed is perfect for those kind of games, and the fact that you can make colossal combos with the revert is eve more amazing.
Graphics: The environments are alright the skate parks and the plazas look just enough well to let the game flow.

Graphics: The graphics aren't great...they're not xbox quality. They're not even PS2 quality...and if they are than the ps2 has some crappy graphics

Overall: A great game that any friends can relate to with excellent gameplay mechanics and plenty of hooks for the beginning player. Great multiplayer and single player modes, and plenty of unlockables if that's your thing. The only drawback is a tedious repitition of the campaign mode.
Gameplay: The mechanics in this game are *SOLID*. They've used the same control scheme for 3 years, and only minor refinements have been introduced. This third installment adds the introduction of things like caspers (which are essentially manuals that slow you down) and reverts, which allow you to chain tricks off of a Vert ramp. The addition of the revert helps balance all the maps IMMENSELY in that now in Tony Hawk, it's possible to get huge scores based soley on skill, and not knowledge of the best "grind lines". Sure, those lines are still important, but they are nowhere near necessary to get the amount of points that one has to ac !&%$@#* ulate to topple the numerous goals for each level. On the contrary, grind lines are still necessary for getting the millions of points that impress friends.
Graphics: VERY Cool level design, far draw distances (as opposed to THPS2). Textures are on the blah side, and some models just seem blocky. Although, faster drawing is far more important in this kinda game, than eye candy imho.
Sound: Hilarous soundbytes some of the time. Others grow quite thin after a while. Music soundtrack is forgettable, and I always ended up playing my own music anyways.
Suggestions: More variance in campaign mode. The ability to record runs from competitions. Lose the time limit in campaign mode. More character specific specials. Something to REALLY distinguish all the characters in single player mode. They all play the same!!!

Overall: How any brain-dead drooling moron could actually bare to look at his infested tv screen for anything past the title screen beats me, i mean, i would think that Kabuki warriors was the worst game on ay system up to now, we no longer need rubber boots to wade through, we need a whole protective suit to dive in the bullsh*t.
Gameplay: As soon as i bought the game, i was able to do every single "super-duper" trick in this pretty-case game, i mean, please, give us some sort of a challenge, and the missions? oh dont even get me started! Kill the bully?! Just a typical airhead-american style "dude i'm so cool" game. I use the game as a frisbee for my dog now, its not any more worth dog's saliva and filth
Graphics: What do u mean visual appeal? you mean that we are actually expected to appreciate vector-style graphics without anny buffers or even bump mapping, what is this the gamecube? all levels are flat and i'm sorry but the 'trees' might as well have nipples on them...
Sound: what sound, you mean that repetitive and nauseating beat in the background that made me wonder about my xbox head? But i really have to give a hand to- *laugh* i couldn't even keep a straight face when saying it.
Suggestions: You may as well quit and solely develop this underet-at-starbucks s !&%$@#* m for the gamecube, haha, who knows, this may vastly improve nintendo's games, because personally everyone i know is sick of companies like this one dumping sh*t on the xbox

I said that I crave replay value, and this is the number 1 title in Replay Value. I will be playing this game years from now. I've always liked the Xbox controller, and my scores are higher on Xbox than PS2.
Graphics: Better than the PSX versions (duh), and better than the PS2 version. The people animations are awsome, and the surrounding effects and background are too.

Overall: well dudes, i love the first thps, gone crazy with thps2, but when i got thps3, i felt that something wasn´t right, there are few levels, and the extra level for xbox doesnt have any goals to be achieved..or if it does, I cant open another level, they are 10, so that sucks. thps2x is better cause it got 24 levels, plus it is for 4 players, and I can also play it on XBCONNECT. Sorry thps not always the last releases are better.
Gameplay: If you have played any thps you know that the revert mode kick ass, now you can make more insane combos and easier.
Graphics: it looks all the same, except the extra level, the sea and the size of the level is bigger that what i tought it could be.
Sound: well you can select your soundtrack the same in thps2x, the rail and manual sounds are the same, except for some ambient sounds.

Overall: If you thought Tony Hawk 2x was cool, wait until you see this one... I played it for about 60 hours now and I'm never tired of it. Sure it can become a bit repetitive but there are so much things to unlock, it's crazy =p
Gameplay: The controls are awesome. With the new revert trick, you can make combos that go above the million points almost easily... The levels are populated (at last!) and fun to play, and this game has the best replay value I have ever seen in an Xbox game.
Graphics: Sure, since this is a port it could've been a little better, yet the models are really nice, the specular reflection on metal quarterpipes is nice-looking, and the levels are huuuge... loading times are a bit long though.
Sound: I personally don't like punk/ska/rock music that much, but you can play your own soundtracks and say if you want it random or in order(woohoo!). The voices (especially in Suburbia and Canada) are great, and attention to details is awesome.

Overall: Tony Hawk has always been a favorite game of mine since the very first one, and all I can say is that number 3 is tops on my list. This game takes all of the aspects from the first two in the series, and continues to build upon their strong foundation.
Gameplay: Gameplay is perfect. The game is easy to learn, but difficult to master; just as every game should be. The simple key layout is a breeze for new players to the console, and the new tutorial aids them to become the pro skaters that they were meant to become.
Graphics: Wow. The character models are fantastic, the framerate is fast, the animations are smoothe, and the levels are detailed. I did get annoyed at some of the levels that seemed to repeat the same textures over and over, which really draws away from giving that level some character. Although most of the levels are fairly expansive, they're pretty bland, and you'll find yourself mostly staying in one spot in the levels themselves.
Sound: Well of course the sound is going to be good. That's what Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is known for... but I feel that this soundtrack was a tad on the weaker side as compared with the previous two games in the series. It felt too rock and roll and not enough punk for my tastes, but I suppose that everyone's different in the sound matter. There are also the regular rolling sounds and cheering and booing etc. which come out about as good as you can make them. Some of the sound effects do get overused, and I wished that there was a little more change in them, such as certain people in the area saying the same thing over and over again...
Suggestions: Keep up the good work. It can only get better, and I'm awaiting the fourth one... skate on boys.

Gameplay: The gameplay is great, basically the same as the other THS games with a few bonuses. The controller scheme is the same which is a plus for users that have played the previous titles. With 10 levels and many skaters, you could play this game for a long time and not get sick of it.
Graphics: The graphics are good, although i dont think they are as good as they could be on the xbox, but the blood, characters, and course graphics were all outstanding.

Overall: This game has a good selection of skaters but not enough courses, you unlock many more than at the start when you beat the game with every objective completed over and over. The game gets repetitive and pretty difficult after playing for a while. The ability to use your ripped songs in the game was a good idea.
Gameplay: The game has many tricks that can be done by each character with unique specials for each. But after awhile the game gets repetitive and the objectives get very difficult. You have to get every objective and every gold medal to unlock anything and you have to do it over and over to unlock everything.
Graphics: The graphics of the game are excellent, the levels are nicely modeled and are really big. The create a skater and create a park are still there and the different multiplayer games are still fun.
Sound: The ability to use your ripped songs from the X-BOX Hard drive was a good idea and the actual soundtrack to the game isn't half bad either.
Suggestions: Online Play

Overall: Great game, very replayable. I love this game, as well as all of the THPS series games. I can play it for hours, its just...well... fun!
Gameplay: Very good, the addition of combos and reverts did a lot for the game. The combos make the game more interesting and not as repetative, so you always have something new to do. The levels are put together niceley, and most everything "flows" pretty good. Only one glitch I found in a level so far, and its no big deal, and doesn't effect anything. I am definitley more used to the PS/PS2 controllers when it comes to thps games, but the xbox controller works well enough for me. I cant wait to play this game through system link!
Graphics: Graphics are good. The skaters are detailed and so are the levels. The most amazing part is the trick animations, they rock! Especially seeing the tricks link together when you do combos, its amazing! The shadows are done nicely also. There are parts with water puddles on the ground that give off reflections, thats a graphical plus. One bad thing is the frame rate drop sometimes. It drops noticibly, doesn't effect the game at all and picks up to normal speed quickly. Some things are pretty funny, like the guy peeing into the lake in Canada. I do feel that Neversoft could have done a better job with the graphics though, and take full advantage of the Xbox's powers. But they are good none the less.
Sound: Hahahaha! Some of the things the people say are funny. But they do repeat quite often. The wheels on different surfaces make different sounds. And grinding and sliding on different things also has a different sound. The ambient sounds are good too. And the sound of bails sound realistic, I guess. It comes with an ok soundtrack, but It allows you to use your own custom soundtrack, which means a lot to me :) Overall, the sound is great.
Suggestions: Fix the slowdown, spruce up the graphics. I cant wait for THPS4!

Overall: I thought this game was pretty boring, it was too much like the first 2 which i played so many times. But anyways this game is kinda fun dooing all of the tricks and challenges but gets boring i think, only buy if you really love this game and never get sick of games like this.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very good because you can unlock alots of different skkaters which is cool. Also it is very easy to control and has good replay value. The tricks can be exacutaed very well as well.
Graphics: The visuals are good as well, it has nice blood. Also the different tricks look very nice and they also have cool enviroment with the kikers and pipes.
Sound: It has ok music, but the soiunds of heads smashing and pavement and the oofs are very funny. Soke of the songs get very annotying but some are very cool

Overall: Over 20 skaters and more modes than you can shake a twig at. I mean it when I say you will play this for an entire year.
Gameplay: It can be a bit difficult to get the hang of if you've never played T Hawk before, but once you know the controls, you'll be amazed at what you can pull off. The engine gets better with each version.
Graphics: A pretty game with plenty of little details to make your eyes water with joy. The slowdown is not terrible, but is definitely noticeable.
Sound: Great soundtrack and some nice effects. And it offers custom soundtracks!

Overall: This game is fun and time consuming, but it is still Tony Hawk. The addition of combos that seem to last forever is a good bonus, but this game lacks originality.
Gameplay: The gameplay is good even though it is still mostly the Tony Hawk engine with some tweeks here and there.
Graphics: The game looks fairely good. Tony Hawk 2x was a lot better looking and used different techniques that this game lacks, but the look of this game still works.
Sound: The sound is fairly good. The sound track is really addictive yet repetetive. I am disappointed that this game did not include the option of using your own sountrack. That is why I gave the sound appeal a lower score.
Suggestions: Do something new and stop revamping the same engine.

Overall: This is a great game, and I would say the best in the Tony Hawk series. Each sequel gets better, and this is no exception. The levels are massive and even more fun. The goals are cooler and now more interactive. This is a must buy for anyone who likes this genre. Al,so, there are Xbox extras like a new level and more secret characters.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very fun. The trick system is huge, and the specials are crazy. The control scheme is easy to use, and the overall game is easy. Most people can beat in 4 hours, but the hardcore game can even beat it in less than 1 hour. But there are tons of things to unlock, and each time u beat it you get a new thing, such as a character, or level, or special mode.
Graphics: The games graphics are very well done. The character models are very nice, and the levels are very nice too. One downside is that the graphics are not as good as the Tony Hawk 2x since that version used bump mapping.
Sound: The sound is good. The sound effects are nice, and the soundtrack is wicked and huge. The tunes are very cool, and they get stuck in your head. But if you dont like the music you can always rip your own soundtrack.
Suggestions: More levels, and more goals for each level, and online play!!
