Description

NHL Hitz has been reinvented, without leaving behind the edginess that has made Midway Sports the leader and only year-on-year successful publisher of extreme-style league-licensed sports videogames. Officially licensed by the NHL and the NHLPA and featuring real NHL teams and athletes, NHL Hitz Pro retains the well-known Midway Sports "edge," but with a new emphasis on realistic NHL features, and will showcase 5-on-5 gameplay, game rules and penalties, and for the first time, live online head-to-head gameplay on Playstation 2. NHL Hitz Pro also includes NHL legitimate, 23-man player rosters that bring together pro players and authentic team lines with real offensive and defensive team formations.

Overall: This is the pro version of the NHL hitz series. It is now 5-5 and the rinks are much bigger. The xbox version is not live enabled however.
Gameplay: It plays a little more NHL and a little less hitz. Like stated above there are now 10 players on at one time. The fighting system is new. Instead of the normal combos and punches your are given a button to tap. I personally hate the new fighting system but love the overall gameplay. Dont expect an all out arcadey feel for this one
Graphics: The graphics are improved from 2003 but are below Espn's hockey title. This is a port so nothing spectacular is to be seen. I will say that the rink and fans do look better.
Sound: This game supports custom soundtracks so thats a plus. The crowd chants and commentary is good. Much much better than last years hitz. The commentaters keep up with the action quite well and are never off by more then one play.
Suggestions: Being a hitz vetran i was pleased with the new face lift on this game. I am still heated that xbox got screwed with the no live enabled options.
