This being my first time playing a Dynasty Warriors series from Koei and Omega Force, I was a little unclear as to what the story of the game was all about, because my school never taught us 2nd and 3rd century Chinese history. So I did a little homework (read the manual.) I found out that China was divided due to an ancient feud, which fueled a battle that end the four hundred year reign of the Han dynasty and split China into three different states."

Description

In Dynasty Warriors 4, players single-handedly clash with legions of enemy soldiers and experience the excitement of fighting against impossible odds. A host of new features adds greater depth to the gameplay, as well as more insight into the characters and turbulent events of the Three Kingdoms era. Battlefield environments are more detailed, expansive, and notably more interactive. New play modes and characters are introduced. The new soundtrack blends modern music with classical Asian instruments and styles. The generals that populate the screen are rich in texture and color. The introduction of siege engines combined with the return of elephant troops adds a new level of tactical action.

Overall: Koei does it again and releases yet another saga to the Dynasty Warriors series, and just in time too, its also Koei's 25th anniversary. Before I begin let me say that this is my first review for this site, and also that I am fair when it comes to rating games. You will however never see me give a game a 10/10, because no game is perfect, they all have there flaws.
Gameplay: The gameplay for Dynasty Warriors 4 is great. The controls don't get much level, and playing it on the XBOX just feels natural. This game is tons of fun and supporting up to 2 players you can kick butt simultaneously with a friend. The difficulty of the game changes as frequently as the NYSE. One minute the game is extremely easy and the next minute it seems as though its impossible. In some cases this can be an ok thing because its not just a hack and slash game, and will actually require strategy.
Graphics: The graphics in this game are decent. They don't really take advantage of XBOX's power, yet everything is still beautiful. The main complain I have with this is during the movies some of the scenes become a little choppy. Other than that the graphics are good, especially considering the fact that Dynasty Warriors 4 was ported from the PS2 version. The sound in this is great. It sometimes seems as though, you are actually in the game.

Suggestions: Overall I give this game an 8/10. It has its pros/cons, but the pros more than make up for any of the games flaws. What kept me from giving this game a semi-higher score is the slowdown that occurs often during battle, and becomes annoying quickly. Trying to watch the videos can become difficult, because of it being choppy sometimes. This is a great game to rent, but even better to buy. Don't be afraid to spend the money to buy the game it is worth it. The best out of all 4 is definitely this one, and as hard as it is to admit, I don't see the series getting a whole lot better, its just too good already.

Overall: I didn't know what to expect from this game. I always wanted to tried it, and I finally did, and I was glad I did.
Gameplay: What you do is try and fight through hordes of people to get to the enemies leader. Sounds easy right. NO. Only the first few were easy, then the rest was hard. Things that I really liked about this game was that you can create your own character, can upgrade him/her, and upgrade your weapon. My only problem was that you anoly have about 5 choices of fighting style. Maybe I'll get more later.
Graphics: That graphics are awasome. Everbody is very well detailed and the game only lagged once or twice. I thought it would lag a lot with that much people.
Sound: The sounds was good. WHY ISN"T CUSTOM SOUNDTRACK!?!??!!? Other than that, it was fine.
Suggestions: More fighting styles, custom soundtracks. Other than that, keep it up!!!!!!!

Overall: DW 4 is a strategy game, trapped in a hack-and-slash body. May sound harsh, but it's an awesome combination. You are restricted to what command you have over the army, but it doesn't detract. Anyway, DW 4 is (I believe) the 4th installation to a well known line of games. It's the first of the series that I've played, but it's a satisfying game for newbies and veterans, alike.
Gameplay: You're an all powerful officer that is in control of a small unit of 1-8 bodygaurds. You and your unit must go throughout the 3 (plus bonus) campaigns that feature 3 chinese dynasties. Each dynasty has numerous officers and plenty of unlockable officers and features. You can go through the 3 campaigns in split screen coop with a friend, or go head-to-head with your trained officer.

The level up system is very basic; more kills you get, more points you get, more officers killed, more weapon and exp points earned. As you level up your officer, new costumes will be unlocked along with an occasional weapon level up (which allows you do to more damage and more attacks).

As you go through these missions, you'll encounter a numerous amount of enemy soldiers. Up to 100 at a time. You will rise victorious through your selection of combos and musou attacks. The combo system is very limited and very simple. Mashing the X and Y buttons is enough to finish off even the toughest of enemies. Blocking is extraneous and is only used to center your 3rd person camera, and your super musou attacks are simple to pull off (pressing B unleashes a devastating attack).

Again, newbies and veterans will have hours of fun with this.
Graphics: Well, the CGI videos are nicely done, but lacks luster. Character models in CG movies show polygon corners along their clothes along with clipping issues when two pieces of clothing meet. Other than that, the in game visuals are out dated. You wont be surprised to see pop ups along with frequent slowdowns (not as bad as the PS2 version). But it's a PS2 port, and the Xbox's hardware wasn't used to it's fullest.
Sound: The dubbing... is... horrible. I can almost imagine seeing the voice actors themselves reading the lines with a "does that sound good?" at the end.... I could've done better voice acting.. in fact... a mute would've done a better job. "IT WASN'T MEANT TO BE" is the most monotonous line you'll ever hear in this game...
Suggestions: Better voice acting and efficient hardware usage is a MUST.

Overall: This game is sweet especailly since can make your own players like my guy was named Mo'to'La it was cool.
Gameplay: It is so much fun you can choose your weappon and it makes you feel cool with a rapier or a grand sword.
Graphics: It has great color and the players move without flaw and it has all the attacks you need and you can see them in movement
Sound: Great sound from asian historic and from modern it is all good to me they maybe should of had more talking while fighting then you could taught and stuff
Suggestions: Make layers taught while fighting and have more weapons. More clothes to choose from
