Hunter: The Reckoning

Overall: This game is cool. Think of Gauntlet, with blood, a storyline, and really cool enemies. Plus, there is a chainsaw for which to spill blood forth from the really cool enemies. You also have guns, some of which require ammo, and the other one, which is your primary weapon, which while weaker than the other ammo-munching weapons, is a great way to dispense of your foes. You can also pistol whip your enemies, so that's always fun. Unfortunately, the game winds up becoming repetitive, and has little replay value, unless you got some friends over, in which case, you'll still have a lot of fun.

Gameplay: Hack and shoot. That would be the most effective way to describe the gameplay. If you're not slicing and dicing, you're splattering cherry pie all over the behind of your enemies. The enemies conist primarily of zombies, and more zombies. However, you do get the occasional weird enemy such as a slaughtered cow zombie or a demonic teddy bear. Once again, it eventually gets reptitive after you've beaten it around 3 times unfortunately.

Graphics: Cool visuals. Everything looks good, except for the cutscenes, they should have used actual movies instead of just manipulating the in game environment, and zooming into character's faces.

Audio: Sounds are great. Everything that needs to be there is there, and none of the sounds are annoying, or off place.

Suggestions: Release the hidden codes!!! Add more characters too, that would make the game have more replay value, and give ppl some selection when 4 ppl are playing at the same time.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Elder Scrolls III : Morrowind

Overall: This game is absolutely amazing. There is really no restriction to what you can and cannot do, unless you intend to complete the main quest, in which case there are certain people that you cannot kill. You can sell drugs, plunder dungeons, kill anyone and anything, and go diving in the ocean for pearls. This RPG does not have any restraint.

Gameplay: It's awesome. While travelling from town to town on foot can get really tiring, there are some items that'll speed up the process, to make it less boring. The combat system is fun, and you get to chose what kind of swing you do w/ your weapon, and how much damage it does. Magic classes pretty much nuke their enemies and hope that their foes will die before they ran out of mana. Unfortunately, this game has its bugs. Characters vital to completing the game can somehow disappear from the game after you go past day 400 apparently. Sometimes, you can get stuck inside a rock, or fall through the floor. Sometimes your enemies will start running into walls for no apparent reason, thus making the fight completely unfair in your favor. Another dreaded bug, that reads "The disk is damaged or dirty, hit A to continue." occurs sometimes when you zoom out on your map. These bugs would be major let-downs, and reason enough not to buy most games, but in Morrowind's case, these are easily forgivable, although they are unfortunate.

Graphics: Visuals are massive. When the sun sets over the ocean it's simply amazing. The enemies and people are created in a very simple way, and it sometimes shows, as certain people's arms look pasted onto their shoulders, but it's forgivable. The spell effects are not all that impressive, unfortunately. Just large balls of color resembling certain Quake 2 modifications' explosions. Often, you'll get traces of jaggies here and there. The view is so massive however, that once again, it's forgivable, and you generally won't be scrutinizing over these things.

Audio: The sound is great. The environments sound like they should, the unsheathing of a sword makes the familar sound we are accostomed to from movies, and you can tell when hit a shield or armor from the loud "clank" that will be produced. There are a few annoying noises that occur every now and then, such as the sound the Cliff Racers hate, although it's not so much the sound they make is terrible as it is the fact that I despise those annoying pterodactyl wannabes...

Suggestions: A more extensive de-bugging would have been nice. The vital NPC disappearing bug is really not easy to forgive, as it will ruin any and all progress you, as the player, have made. More arctifact weapons would have been nice also. Medium armor users also deserve something better than Indoril, too. It would be nice if this game was more like Daggerfall, as far as travel went, where you just click the location that you wanted to goto, and then the game would process the travel for you. Having a carriage/horse like in Daggerfall would've been nice. I still do not understand why those 2 things were removed. Being able to purchase a boat, like in Daggerfall would've been cool too. If this game did not have the bugs that it did, it would be without a doubt, the best RPG ever made.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Dead or Alive 3

Overall: It's an awesome game... for awhile. Once you get over the graphics, you'll find yourself wondering what to do. So, you'll go and try to master the counters system, and all your favorite characters' moves. Multiplayer, however, is where the single player is redeemed. Anyone can stand a chance by just pushing buttons, and while that will frustrate some, it makes it more fun for me, b/c my friends who do not have an XBox can put up a good fight with me, and that way, I can really test my skills at the game. Some of the double-team moves in Tag-team mode will cause everyone to stop playing and start laughing, or cause everyone to say something like, "Holy S**t." or "Ouch."

Gameplay: It's a fighting game, and an easy to beat one at that. Beating the actual characters is easy, but the boss is just a pain in the @$$. It's annoying having to fight a thing with ranged attacks w/ melee attacks. Boss aside, fighting flows almost flawlessly. Counters actually look good, and believable. For instance, it will look as though it was done in a real martial arts tourney for the most part, as opposed to some forced animation played for a certain type of attack. Most of the moves and throws are simple to pull off in rapid succession after about 1-2 hrs of gameplay. Some moves are just impossible to pull off, unless your opponent just stands there, doing nothing. Holding down a button to pull off a move is just not feasible for this fast-paced fighter.

Graphics: This is the future of gaming. You'll just sit there, and gaze at the landscapes, and the characters for awhile. It looks life-like in many, many ways. Absolutely stunning. It has the best visuals of any game out there at the moment. The fact that there is a huge amount of untapped power in the Xbox is just amazing. I'll be looking forward to how they make 80% better graphics than this in a year or 2 from now!

Audio: Fighting sounds are perfect. The voices however, I did not like. Japanese voices across the board? C'mon now! I would have LOVED to see the fighters speak the language of their country. The music is good for the most part, but I want to have custom soundtracks enabled.

Suggestions: Make the characters speak in the language of their country. Have custom soundtracks enabled. Do not make any moves that require you to hold a button. Some fantastic moves that cause explosions or something along those lines would be awesome, but I doubt that would fit into their series. Don't advertise the girls of the game so much. It really makes it look like a pathetic fighter if you're forced to advertize polygonalized T&A.

Overall Score: 10.0 / 10 Halo: Combat Evolved

Overall: Absolutely amazing. I bought this game on launch day (the 15th of November)and I'm still playing it. I have beaten it on heroic awhile ago, and am almost completely done on legendary. And the "Assault on Control Room" level never gets old. I still haven't played the 4 person multiplayer, and I am still trying to find another person w/ an Xbox to play 8 player CTF. I'm sure after playing these modes, my opinion of the game will skyrocket. And I already think this game is amazing.

Gameplay: It's a FPS, and it plays like a !&%$@#* good one. That also means, however, nothing really new. The vehicles are awesome, and the enemy AI is amazing. They'll do basic things such as covering fire for advances, throwing grenades at you, and using suppressing fire to force you to run for it, while plasma bolts slam into you, and of course, basic flanking manuevers.

Graphics: The visuals are great. This game is a true testament to the power of the XBox. Frame rates only slow down on rare occasions, for about 1 second or less. I counted about 2 having completed the Heroic difficulty, not including the checkpoints, and loadpoints, which are nothing more than brief hiccups. Looking at certain enemies' shiny armor just makes me think "wow" and some of the level's environments are just breath-taking.

Audio: The sound is great. The fact the aliens speak English is kind of weird, but it's no big deal. The grunt's voices are perfect, and they say some funny things, to the point where you could be in some intense fighting, and find yourself laughing when a grunt screams, "Women and little people first!" and you see a grunt running for cover. The weapon sounds are also great. If I could change any of the sounds, I would not. Adding a custom soundtrack option would have been nice, but the game's music is great also.

Suggestions: There should have definately a way to enable the Banshee in Multiplayer. A human flying vehicle would also have been cool. The fact that ther was no Banshee in MP was very disappointing to me. There should also be more weapons. A minigun, and those Covenant rocket launchers would have been nice. Other than that, this game is great.
