EA and NCAA part ways, EA will still make College Football games
This morning, the NCAA announced it will no longer be renewing its license with EA Sports due to the "business climate" and "cost of litigation." However, this isnt slowing down Electronic Arts. EA Sports will continue to make college football games. However, it will do so without the NCAA license.
In a public letter posted on their official website, EA Sports EVP Andrew Wilson confirmed that EA Sports will "continue to develop and publish college football games, but we will no longer include the NCAA names and marks."
So how is EA Sports working on a new college football game? The answer is the CLC. "Our relationship with the Collegiate Licensing Company is strong and we are already working on a new game for next generation consoles which will launch next year and feature the college teams, leagues and all the innovation fans expect from EA Sports."
Sources have told ESPN that next years game will simply be called "College Football 15."
