(RUMOR) - X1- PS4 war heats up in Europe over new PS4 bundle, voice recognition

Things just got VERY interesting. Just remember, competition breeds creativity. If this bundle is the real deal and comes Stateside, we can probably expect Microsoft to get VERY creative very quickly...

A listing on Amazon suggests that the PlayStation 4 camera will offer voice recognition. A bullet point on the peripheral’s product notes suggests that “from navigational voice commands to facial recognition, the PlayStation Camera adds incredible innovation to your gaming.”

If true, this confirms the feature first suggested by a Sony job listing in May for a “Speech Recognition Intern.” It also means further parity between PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, as Microsoft’s new console offers voice recognition via Kinect (though that feature will only be available in five markets at launch).

At present, the PlayStation 4 camera is not included with the console, and IGN sources suggested earlier this year that Sony removed it from the box in order to beat Microsoft on price. However, a retail listing that appeared this morning suggests that a bundle featuring the accessory and Killzone: Shadow Fall could be incoming for the same price as Xbox One.

Though the bundle hasn’t been officially announced, that ever-trusty bastion of leaks Amazon France has revealed it’ll include a copy of Killzone: Shadow Fall, the PlayStation 4 Camera and two DualShock 4 controllers. All this in addition to a Jet Black 500GB PlayStation 4 console.

At the moment the bundle is listed for retail at €499; the exact same amount as Microsoft’s European Xbox One price.

In contrast, anyone who pre-orders Microsoft’s console will be getting an Xbox One, Kinect and a copy of FIFA 14 for the same price.

Back in June IGN heard that Sony had decided against bundling the PlayStation 4 Camera in with the console to make sure it beat Microsoft when it came down to price. Upon reflection, the company seems to have decided it can afford to include it in a bundle after all.

IGN has been told that there’s no official news on UK or European bundles at this time.
