(RUMOR) - Microsoft likely working on VR headset in face Morpheus, Oculus Rift
A new report suggests Microsoft isn’t keen to be left in the dust by Oculus and Sony, so has begun work on its own VR headset.
According to the Wall Street Journal, sources close to Microsoft have confirmed the company is hard at work on the devices, which are planned to work with the Xbox One and Xbox 360.
(IGN has) reached out to Microsoft to see if it’s prepared to confirm anything, but such a move would hardly be surprising. The Oculus Rift has been making waves for some time, with more and more developers expressing an interest in supporting it. Even Valve has teamed up with the developer, and the headset now integrates with SteamVR.
The real motivator for Microsoft, though, is likely Sony’s rumoured VR headset for PS4 (now confirmed as Project Morpheus).
