The Bug Butcher is Making its Way to the Xbox One

The Bug Butcher invites gamers to a mysterious world filled with creepy spiders, frightening bugs and terrifying monsters. Why you ask? it’s simple, so you can exterminate all the bugs while protecting the crazy scientists who are hacking the facility’s mainframe. Kill the bugs and you will be able to progress further into the facility and continue your journey to unravel the mystery of why the bugs have taken control!

The Bug Butcher is an action-packed 2D side scrolling shoot em up game where peril comes from above. In a nutshell, pest control with machine guns in space. The core mechanics hold old ties from the classic arcade shooter “Super Pang” where you shoot vertically, but with modern day twists. You are Harry, a brash and tenacious exterminator who has a knack for decimating bugs.

Harry’s current assignment takes him to the infested futuristic research facility on planet Zoit. The surviving and dwindling number of scientists employed him for his slaughtering skills. Harry’s mission: survive until the decontamination of the building is complete, hoard coins like his life depended on it, and protect the scientists at all costs. Watch out for the spiders they have a particular fondness for rubber encased science/scientist. After landing, you will move from room to room through the facility blasting rockets, lasers, and wielding thepower of lighting upwards at anything not human.

The Bug Butcher has been a hit title on Steam since its release in January 2016, after having successfully completed the ‘early access’-program. Triangle Studioshas teamed up with Awfully Nice Studios in creating a console version of The Bug Butcher to make sure that now anyone around the world is able to get in on the butchering of bugs!

On October 18th, The Bug Butcher will be available on the Xbox One on October 19th.  What do you get for $9.99? Well you get:

  • 30 missions to complete with various game mechanics and boss fights;
  • Local co-op to annihilate bugs while enjoying the company of a friend;
  • An endless ‘Panic’-mode to make sure your bug butchering needs are satisfied;
  • Over 25 upgrades to unlock to finish off more bugs!

We’ve requested a review copy of the game and hope to have our thoughts for you soon.
