Acclaim Signs Mirra For Five Years

Strengthening its highly successful relationship with the most decorated athlete in the history of BMX, Acclaim Entertainment, Inc., today announced that it has re-signed Dave "Miracle Boy" Mirra to an exclusive five-year strategic licensing sponsorship agreement. Under the agreement, Mirra will continue to serve as the spokesperson for the Company’s flagship action sports brand, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX, which has sold more than three million units worldwide across all gaming platforms. Mirra will play an integral role in the development of Acclaim’s future BMX video games, including working in concert with the Company’s development teams to ensure authenticity and realism; participating in motion capture and voice recording sessions for inclusion in the games, as well making several public appearances each year. Furthermore, he will wear the Acclaim logo on his bike and helmet at all BMX competitions. "Dave Mirra is the best BMX athlete in the world today and we are very pleased about continuing our association with him," said Evan Stein, Vice President of Brand. "Our Dave Mirra portfolio of action sports titles are the most highly regarded in the category, and we continue to set new benchmarks each year with innovative design and captivating gameplay. We know that with Dave on our team, Acclaim will take the genre to an entirely new level." "Acclaim makes the best BMX games, which capture the thrill of the sport and deliver authentic action for gamers of all ages," added Dave Mirra. "I’m excited to be working with the Company again and can’t wait to see how people react to Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3." Currently in development with Z-Axis, the award-winning creative team behind Acclaim’s Dave Mirra brand, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3 will feature 10-time world champion and 13-time X Games champion, Dave Mirra, and 16 of the best street, vert, dirt and flatland riders in the world. Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3 will offer many exciting new features, including all-new motion captured rider moves, more than 1,700 tricks and 10 highly expansive and immersive environments. The game will provide a revolutionary Create-A-Rider system, allowing players to create their own rider to utilize throughout the game. In addition, Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 3 will include a dynamic in-game soundtrack, featuring some of today’s top recording artists.
