BW5389 MAY 14,2003 05:35 PACIFIC 8:35 EASTERN ( BW)(CA-THQ-INC)(THQI) THQ and Pandemic Studios Unveil Full Spectrum Warrior; Squad-Based Tactical Action of Full Spectrum Warrior Based Directly on U.S. Army Training System E3Expo 2003 LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 14, 2003--THQ(R) Inc. (Nasdaq:THQI) today unveiled Full Spectrum Warrior(TM), an authentic new military tactical-action game with game developer Pandemic Studios. Developed exclusively for the Xbox(TM) videogame system from Microsoft, Full Spectrum Warrior will be unveiled at the Electronic Entertainment Expo and is scheduled to be available in early 2004. Full Spectrum Warrior is based on a light infantry-training simulator designed by Pandemic Studios for the U.S. Army as a tool to reinforce Army doctrine and squad tactics amongst troops. Full Spectrum Warrior is a squad-based, tactical-action game that delivers the experience of squad level command in the heat of battle. The product was developed with expertise from University of Southern California’s Institute for Creative Technologies, which worked with Pandemic to bring state-of-the-art technology to the game. Designed to simulate today’s challenges of urban combat missions, Full Spectrum Warrior delivers a level of realism and accuracy that has never been seen in a military-based game. "This agreement aligns THQ with a proven development studio capable of creating the type of realistic games today’s market demands," said Peter Dille, senior vice president, worldwide marketing, THQ. "With its unique tactical-action style of gameplay and roots as an actual U.S. Army training simulator, Full Spectrum Warrior allows players to truly experience the precision and emotion of modern day military operations." "Our work with the Army produced a compelling and unique game that authentically captures the life of a U.S. Army soldier operating in an urban warzone. Full Spectrum Warrior is a completely new type of game experience that we are extremely excited to bring to consumers," said Josh Resnick, President, Pandemic Studios. "THQ’s publishing strength and their keen desire to build this franchise and our business made them the perfect partner for this project."
