No More Hardware for Bandai
In light of poor sales of the Wonderswan outside Japan, Japanese toy maker Bandai has decided to can its hardware operations, focusing exclusively on development of software for game consoles. Bandai CEO and President Takeo Takasu told Japanese daily newspaper Mainichi Shimbun that the company will continue to take advantage of its animation and character licenses (which include Dragon Ball, Gundam, Neon Genesis Evangelion, and Digimon) to produce games for multiple platforms. Contrary to earlier speculations from analysts of a more exclusive software licensing contract with Nintendo, Takasu has stated that they would consider producing software for the Xbox if its market share in Japan improved.Source: http://www.gamepro.com/
