Battleborne Suing Acclaim
The troubled times facing Acclaim have been well documented during the past week, with quarterly losses compounded by the news that the American publisher has lost the rights to both Turok and Major League Baseball. However the news today took a turn for the worse with the announcement that Battleborne Entertainment has won a preliminary injunction against Acclaim, by order of the Supreme Court of the State of New York. The preliminary injunction restrains Acclaim from shipping BattleBorne’s Combat Elite: WWII Paratroopers for the Playstation2 and Xbox, whilst the developer is in the process of suing Acclaim for breaching the parties’ development agreement by failing to make payments when due and by threatening to release Combat Elite prior to making all required payments.
