Vivendi Signs Up For Game Stars Live

Build-up to the increasingly eye-catching Game Stars Live consumer games show this September continued this week, as Vivendi-Universal Games and Britsoft publisher Digital Jesters both unveiled their line-ups. Vivendi’s offering includes a number of unreleased titles, including potential croud-pleasers Tribes: Vengeance, Men of Valor, Crash Twinsanity and Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude, along with The Chronicles of Riddick on Xbox, which is due out in Europe this Friday. Vivendi’s booth will also feature a ’Challenge Corner’, where attendees can compete for Crash and Spyro prizes. The publisher’s full line-up consists of Men of Valor (PC, Xbox), Fight Club (PS2, Xbox), The Chronicles of Riddick (Xbox), Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude (PS2, Xbox), Tribes: Vengeance (PC), Evil Genius (PC), Crash Twinsanity (PS2, Xbox) and Spyro: A Hero’s Tail (PS2, Xbox, Cube). Digital Jesters, meanwhile, are planning a showcase of their PC-focused line-up, including the sequel to cult classic TrackMania, TrackMania: Sunrise, a new first-person shooter known as Bet On Soldier, the recently released Chaos League, D-Day, Medieval Lords, The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes and a sneak peak at Pro Rugby Manager 2005. DJs also plans to unveil three new titles - including the company’s first ever console and licensed title - at the neighbouring European Games Network press event, all of which amounts to one of the publisher’s biggest publicity pushes to date. "We’ll have something special for both press and consumer - and we can’t wait to meet and support our fanbase, which has been so supportive during our first year," marketing director Leo Zullo said on Tuesday. Already this week we’ve heard that Microsoft will be using Game Stars Live to give the public their first playable taste of Xbox first-person shooter Halo 2, while other major publishers including Nintendo, Activision, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft and Atari have already pledged to showcase substantial line-ups. Game Stars Live runs from September 1st to 5th at ExCeL in London’s Docklands area, and tickets are available from the website or via phone in advance for £10, and will cost £12 on the door. The European Games Network, a trade-only event, will run in a neighbouring hall for three of the five days of Game Stars Live.
