Tetris Dropping On Xbox 360
The Cold War is finally over! According to GamesIndustry.biz an Xbox 360 version of beloved, classic puzzler Tetris is coming to North America and Europe following the settlement of a legal dispute between publisher THQ and The Tetris Company. Last year THQ sued The Tetris Company alleging that a breach of contract prevented the publisher from releasing the Nintendo DS version of Tetris. THQ purchased the rights to Tetris in 2000 and all the requirements of the deal had been met to renew the license until 2007. THQ did lost rights DS version in the settlement, though Nintendo released Tetris DS as a first-party title earlier this year. According to the financial statement released by THQ the settlement had been reached at the end of 2005. Under its terms THQ may publish a version of Tetris for the Xbox 360 in territories outside of Japan. Further details on a planned release date or whether Tetris for the 360 will be an Xbox Live Arcade game were yet to be determined.Source: http://www.IGN.com
