Soulcalibur IV Is Now Available Nationwide

Leading video game developer and publisher, Namco Bandai Games America Inc., announced today that Soulcalibur IV, is now available at retailers throughout North America for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system. The premier weapon-based fighting franchise returns with an evolution of its highly celebrated fighting system with more than 30 characters, new gameplay mechanics, and stunning high definition graphics.

In Soulcalibur IV the origins of the ongoing saga are set to be revealed as new and familiar faces from all around the galaxy seek the rival swords for their own goals. Special fighters enter the fray to add a new layer of challenge and mystery, including legendary Star Wars characters Darth Vader for the PlayStation 3 system version of the title; Jedi Master Yoda for the Xbox 360; and Darth Vader’s Secret Apprentice from LucasArts’ hotly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Unleashed, who will make an appearance on both platforms.

Continuing the franchise’s legacy of delivering a rich gaming experience and robust features, Soulcalibur IV has been retooled from the ground up to provide a true next generation experience. Now the wages of battle are shown as protective armor can be broken off and visible lacerations of clothing can be seen with the inclusion of the equipment destruction feature. Adding depth to the unrivalled combat system, players can unleash Critical Finish moves to defeat opponents in one stunning blow. An improved dynamic character creation mode allows players to customize their favorite fighter or create an original warrior with nearly infinite possibilities. Not only can players change their character’s costumes, but also adjust the build and voice to suit their tastes.

Also for the first time in the series’ history, fighting enthusiasts can compete online against opponents from around the world. Choose fan-favorite Soulcalibur warriors or bring a customized character into online matches for global domination.

Soulcalibur IV is rated "T" for Teen by the ESRB and carries a suggested MSRP of $59.99. A limited Premium Edition with exclusive content will be available for $79.99, while supplies last. For more information please visit: http://www.namcobandaigames.com or www.soulcalibur.com.
