It was not the grandfather of all first person shooters, but when the first Doom was released by Id in 1993 it pushed the envelope of this brand spankin? new genre. It was fast paced, dripping with mood, had wide open environments, and a variety of groovy weapons."

Overall: A FPS that continues making history, that is Doom 3

Their successes: the hyper realism, the structure of the missions, claustrophobic atmospheres, the environmental sounds that increase the fear and counted parallel histories with email and other details that they are in the AUC

Their errors: Some help for other languages.

Recommendation: It is a new standard in the FPS. One of the most influential video games.

Qualification: Brilliant

Overall: When you first start playing it seems to be fun, but trust me it gets old QUICK! I only played it for a couple hours because it started to get boring.
Gameplay: Unlike most of my other reviews, I don't have alot to say about it.It is scary at first , but because it is the same thing over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, and over, it stops to be fast. See, repitition can get anoying, just like how I kept saying over and over a bunch of times, the game is like that. You play as somebody in this group of people(I do not know who because the story ain't great) and you are on mars, yeah that's right, MARS, and an infestation of demons are taking over the place you are in and you have to kill all of them. I have had the game for a while now and I am still only on the second level, ya want to know why, because I am bored of it already. The game is very, very hard, unless you have the unlimited health cheat on, then it is to easy. Beleive me, this game is not worth buying, don't listen to all those other people who give this game 4s, and 5s, they are crazy.
Graphics: The graphics are the strong side of the game even though they are not great.
Sound: Sound is alright, the noises of all the demons are good, but they say the same thing every time. The sounds of the weapons are ok, but it is nothing special.
Suggestions: DON'T MAKE ANOTHER ONE, BECAUSE IT WILL PROBABLY SUCK LIKE DOOM 3

Overall: This is one of the worst games I have ever played. It is the most repetitive game ever made! You go down this hallway, kill monster, then go down here and kill some more. And thats the whole game, and then you are done. And it is definitly not scary at all. You know exactly what is gonna happen, no suprise.
Gameplay: You do get a few really cool guns, like the plasma gun, chain gun, and so on. But that doesn't make this a fun game. There is only like 9 guns to choose from.
Graphics: The graphics are ok, but if you want a game with really good graphics, try Halo 2 or King Kong cause those games have fantastic graphics.
Sound: The sound sucks. Nothing else to say. The sounds for the guns are terrible, and the voice acting is the worst I have ever seen.
Suggestions: You suck and your game sucks.

Overall: This is such a fun game and challenging. I like how they included the previous games in this one, it is fun to go back and play the old ones.
Gameplay: Perfect controls, long levels and gets to be hard, what more could you ask for? XBL play is not that fun, it is more frustrating than anything.
Graphics: Wow, amazing. Looks like PC graphics, I don't think you can get any better than this on the Xbox. One of the best looking Xbox games.
Sound: The weapon sounds and voice overs are great. The environmental sounds are awesome it really makes you feel like you are in the game.

Overall: Man I had so much fun with this. Multiplayer, being only 4 people, wasn't exactly my cup of tea, on top of the fact every game I was in the lowest ping I saw was 74 but it would fluctuate up to 120 all the time, so I basically spent my whole time in single player.

People with motion sickness be warned, my friend can't even play this game more than 20 minutes without taking an hour break. The weapons are great, especially the chainsaw which I just love the sound of it tearing through flesh and scraping the walls and ground. The graphics are really good, i don't see what everyone's problem with'em are, and the story is barebones but the cutscenes where you run into bosses and such leave you feeling like your underpowered and a bit worried. I died maybe once/twice and that was because of falling into pits and such, but the game was still challenging, I was on the verge of death a lot. If you haven't played it, I strongly recommend renting this a couple times.
Gameplay: Multiplayer, like I said, 4 people, not all that great of pings, and just randomly teaming up with some jackass isn't too enticing, on top of the fact if your host you can kick people out when your losing so your not credited a loss. Pretty worthless in my book.

The single player though, is really intense, even if you stop playing for a while and load the game back up, within minutes you'll be in the game quick. Most of the time you'll be switching between your weapons using your D-Pad (which btw you can program) or the Y button (I think Y, might be B). The only thing I didn't like was the load times with the PDA having to check security codes and stuff out a lot. Some of the audio logs are great to listen to mainly because the voice acting is stellar. The audio logs for the guy trapped in hell were particularly convincing. Oh yea, you end up going to hell in the game which is pretty insane. Like I said chainsaw is just an awesome weapon, rocket launcher is alright I guess, blood effects are some of the best I've seen, very detailed. One of the best parts of the game was where this big enemy with like metal rear legs, sees me in the room and tries ramming the door in, the thing bends to the point of breaking and then he just stops. so your like ok, so I presume there's an alternate exit. And as I'm looking for one, he rams through the glass and had me trapped in the corner. That was probably the closest I came to dying cuz I was getting reamed bad. Overall, great experience, very immersive (despite a very loose story), tight controls, cool weapons, and nice gore.
Graphics: I thought everything looked great, the HUD, especially on the PDA was sweet, blood effects are just awesome, and characters models are great, though they do seem to take a bit of detail away for multiplayer. I can't complain though, I love it looks. Oh and I didn't mention the lighting. Love the lighting with all the flickering lights and constantly pulling your flashlight out.
Sound: Love the weapons sound effects, love the enemy screechs and yells, love the background blood curdling screams, voice acting is good, overall solid.

Overall: Doom 3 the insanly awesome, kinda shallow but beatifully evil shooter from the fathers of fps; ID software...and a long time coming and now it arrives on the xbox, and im VERY impressed by the overall quality of this port...a solid and suprisingly smooth framerate (30fps?) and the ablity to map weapons to the controller, i must say i enjoy this version more than the pc version despite some differences in the graphics and such
Gameplay: the gameplay is good, like mentioned before, you can map any weapon to any of the four directions of the d pad for quick switch to dispatch a particular obstacle er enemy...there is a auto aim helper here and it helps in the precision department but its not necessary..the framerate does not hinder this any..though that flashlight is awfully powerful
Graphics: this game is one peice of evidence that we could wait another year before the next gen..but that would be well thats another story..if you want a good idea of how it is you must see the hell levels; wonderful and with heat distortion and shadows and lava and bodies on the walls in evil ways..truly intense..yeah, the resolution is down a bit and the detail is down too..but it looks good..i personally ad it the list of games that look better than the bloated great halo 2, this was done with more care in my opinion..the lighting is very well done, and mimics the pc very well if not perfectly er it gets the job done..there is some physics in the game but unlike hl2 or painkiller they just dont do much..an improvement here could help some.. though, im some cases the physics are on too much ive hit a hell knight with a rocket and it flew 50ft like a lego man shot by a bb gun..and some enemies and people kinda move even when dead...strange but an entertaining glitch...over all awesome!
Sound: sound...hmm well i dont have a stereo any more (hey heres a tip dont pawn stuff for money for gf)that would have improved the experience two fold..but from the tv bellows and echos and growls filled the room nonetheless..impressive sound and ambience...the voice work was as weak as halo 2's ending; WEAK
still it got the job done
Suggestions: well add the just released expansion and maybe some more levels in hell, they were awesome!! keep up the good work guys and gals!! just a little better ending not much..im not a moocher

Overall: After playing the PC version, i just rent this one to see if there are different between them. Well, the graphics in PC is in higher resolution and more detaled than the Xbox version but the game is absolutely smooth. This one should be name as survival-horror FPS cause the fear factor is really high, i recommend that you play in the day cause..well you why it right?
Gameplay: You control a marine, a ferocious one, that survived after hell has being unleash on the planet of Mars. Right from the start, there are scary moments that make you jump. Sometime you must control your flaslight cause most of the area is just so dark that you may get lost or run directly into a monster, which reduce your health fastly. Every weapons has it's own effects on different creatures, so use them wisely. I use to like a lot the shotgun cause it can kill instantly every creature from 1-2 shots, except the bosses. Yeah, the soulcube is the most great weapon in the game. If you kill enough ennemies to charge it, you can use it to kill a big one than recovered some health points. The objectifs aren't very varied cause all you have to do is searching a way out in the station.
Graphics: Well, i was amazed by the graphics of Doom 3. If you have a HDTV or not, the graphics is just georgous. The main point is you don't have many time to check it out since you constantly fight you way filled with monsters.
Sound: Except for the sounds of your weapons, monsters and environmments effects, there are absolutely no music in this game.
Suggestions: Evolve in the story of the game. Coop in split-screen for Xbox 360.

Overall: Doom3. Wow. What a title. I think I can honestly say this is the first time I have almost **** my pants playing a video game. The atomosphere and storyline of this game are straight from hell. While there are a few issues and problems, Doom3 is a great game that I suggest everyone checks out.
Gameplay: The gameplay in Doom3 is so intense and frightful I recommend it to all! In the beginning you are armed only with a pistol, but soon you will discover the full arsenal which include plasma guns and a vulcan cannon. If you have XBL you can also take it to PVP or COOP although the framerates on live do seem to drop quite a bit. Another big issue with the game is a lack of variety in levels and enemies. While there is no doubt that they rule, I woulda liked to see some more variations in what you face and what you fight with.
Graphics: The graphics in Doom3 definatley push the Xbox's limits. Lighting are gore effects are definatley topnotch
Sound: The music in Doom3 is not the greatest, but the sound effects are sure to scare you good. The sound was good, but nothing superb.
Suggestions: Fix XBL framerates, include some more variety and features!!

Overall: dark, gloomy and scary are three words to describe this scary shooter, great fun alone in a dark room, with the surround sound cranked
Gameplay: fun at first, but it gets bland, run into a room, its locked, go back to the other room, stuff jumps out at you and chases you, you run, and get a key, kill, then go back and something else jumps at you... reapeat
Graphics: wow, this is where the game shines, on pc and xbox, sadly enough, the game was seriously degrated from the PC version
Sound: i loved everything except the gun sounds... the shotgun could have used a lot more bass, thats why the pc version has sound packs you can add, but everything else is good
Suggestions: work on gameplay

Overall: This game is pretty amazing, the zombies and monsters seem to pop out of any small hole or crack, and you'll be frantically trying to find the weapon you need if you require a different weapon in a large firefight.
Gameplay: The gameplay is amazing. like I said above, the monsters will pop out of anywhere, and if your playing at 4 am like I was when I first purchased the game, It will make you jump a few times. The developers are great at knowing where people will be scared, as the lights will go out at the damnedest of times. The only problem I ahve with the gameplay is the Xbox Live aspect and that is why I am giving it a 4.5 out of 5. The whole idea is pretty horrible in my opinion. The levels aren't too bad, but the lag is horrible.. the first time I played online I almost had a seizure and !&%$@#* my pants because of all the shaking and jumping around.
Graphics: 5.0

What else can I say, this has to be one of the best looking games (If not the best) I've seen for console.
Sound: Sound is great, perfect. The music fits the events happening and adds to the horror effect this game is going for.
Suggestions: Make sure you improve online play in your next game and actaully take time to develop it if you are going to include it.

Overall: Awesome game, flawless in everyway i think. Everything's wonderful about it, read below.
Gameplay: The gameplay is awesome, the only problem is I think, that because it has suck good graphics that the game can slowdown a little bit. You can barely notice it.
Graphics: The visuals, oh my god the visuals, those are outstanding, the best graphics Ive seen in a FPS before.
Sound: The sound is awesome, it sets the mood for the game, without it Doom 3 wouldnt be scary at all, it has awesome and realistic sounds
Suggestions: Too bad you're not gonna make Doom 4, but make the next title you do as good as this one.

Overall: The original FPS that still makes you jump, afraid of the dark and to be afraid to see what it is around the next corner. Alot of elements of the original, returning favs in both enemies and weapons still make it fun.
Gameplay: While the original FPS formula of go through scary door, find bigger gun, kill progressively tougher enemeies to get a key to get further on in the game has or hasn't changed much, depending on the game in question, Doom 3 keeps the formula going, but with guaranteed scares and an environment that is second to none in intensity on Xbox.
Graphics: Anything from pummeling a zombie with you flashlight, turn a corner in a dark corridor right into a charging imp that scares the crap out of you, to lighting up those annoying little baby demons with a plasma rifle, to taking down a hellknight with a chainsaw...the gore, lighting, darkness, weapon effects, level models...all comes together for the best graphics on Xbox...for an FPS that is...
Sound: Once again the environment factor is ramped up alot in this game...enemy breathing, your own heartbeat, not so much background music so much as machines, steam or equipment that emits a kind of continuous white noise that ups the nerves all the time, a great sense of atmosphere again.
Suggestions: Id, you guys did it again, the wait was worth it. Now you just need to set your demon worshipping sights on the next Xbox console and give us some more.

Overall: Beautiful, scary, old school fun. This game is exactly like the original DOOM, just brought to life.
Gameplay: I have played better FPS's in recent times (halo 2 comes to mind) but not many. Just when you think it's getting repetitive, a new monster will jump out of the shadows and scare the **** outta you. Then you get a new gun and think 'who care's if it's repetitive'. Awesome.
Graphics: This game is way more realistic than any other game I have ever seen. The shadows the demons cast when you shine the flashlight at them is just perfect. I would rate this part 6.0 if I could.
Sound: If you play this game with full dolby and a decent audio system (like I did), you will not sleep right for days. Monsters screaming right next to me when I didn't know they were there made me jump outta my seat.
Suggestions: Enough old school, move on to something new.

Overall: Outstanding. Brings the original FPS back to life but with so much more. As you battle the demons of hell, you feel that your really there. That is the reason for this game - YOU actually go.....to Hell.
Gameplay: As far as gameplay goes, its your standard FPS. Get guns, shoot things. Pick up keys, unlock doors. But this is DOOM , which automatically makes it so much more....
Graphics: I can say this with complete honesty : Doom 3 has the BEST graphics ever seen in a video game. They make Riddicks graphics look cheap!. Amazing.
Sound: A very creepy , atmospheric score is accompanied not only with perfect weapon sounds, but also the noises of zombies in the darkness and imps breathing behind you will keep you awake long after you've stopped playing....
Suggestions: Make Doom 4 , new weapons, new enemies. Also, why not attempt the impossible and try and improve the graphics......just to impress me even more ;)

Overall: Doom 3 has an incredible campaign. The campaign has a tremendous amount of replay value as the scary and intriguing story begs to be played again and again.
Gameplay: Slow-paced movement of your characters adds to the terror. Slowly advancing through dark corridors, it's a horror movie you get to control via a first person perspective. Gameplay is slow and engaging.
Graphics: Visuals: beautiful. The best graphics of any Xbox game currently out. Id did a wonderful job porting it to the Xbox. Incredible graphics and lighting effects.
Sound: The depth of the sound and background noises may cause you to wet your pants. Zombies and beings from hell surround you at all times. If you play this with surround sound, it makes you feel as if you ARE the marine.
Suggestions: Although campaign focused, add a bit to multiplayer. Deathmatch isn't very entertaining. Also, five multiplayer maps? That's a bit cheap. The weak multiplayer is the only thing holding the game back.

Awesome job Id. Doom 3 is well worth the money I spent.
