Loons: The Fight For Fame

Overall: Ack! This has to be one of the worst games I've played on the XBox so far. Hard to see characters and major clipping problems.

Gameplay: Gameplay was just so so for a party game and I found it hard to control from such a far away perspective. Also, getting stuck inside a wall/table with no way of getting out should not be tolerated anymore.

Graphics: The cell characters on the loading screen was very blocky in this day and age which should have been my first hint. Again, the far away perspective really hurts this game but I guess I should have expected this due to it being a 4-player game. Otherwise the graphics seemed ok but you would need binoculars to see any kind of detail.

Audio: I suppose there was some sound in there somewhere but honestly don't remember. The voice overs were ok I suppose...

Suggestions: Try not to fit everything on the screen at one time, add more than just 4 characters to play as, and next time consider making it XBox Live compatible!

Overall Score: 3.0 / 10 Blinx: The Time Sweeper

Overall: After reading a few of the online reviews about this game, I was a little skeptical about dropping down $50 but in hindsight, I'm glad I did! This game is a refreshing change of pace from the other platform games on the market.

Gameplay: If you take away the time controls, there is really nothing new here. The characters, albeit a little on the cartoony side, are diverse and created by someone with a massive imagination. I mean, where else will you ever see an octopus flying around with a large baloon attached to it's back? Some other reviews have mentioned that you will have to play and replay each level over and over again by design and to tell you the truth, I don't mind it one bit. The levels so far are not huge and at most only take 10 minutes to complete.

Hidden items in the game is a nice touch but the prizes you receive for getting them seem a little... odd to say the least. I dont want to ruin it for anyone but what was received was really not what I was expg upgrades to your sweeper and other items is a definate plus but one thing I don't understand is why you lose your previously purchased sweeper when buying a new one. It's not like you wont need it again and wouldn't be so bad if they weren't so expensive to begin with. Another item on the hunh? list are clothes. I don't understand why this is necessary nor so expensive. To give you an idea of what I mean, each level could yield roughly 500 gold and a new set of clothes costs somewhere around 3,000. You would think for all of the work you put into getting this money would result in something good for your character but only makes him look cool. Does this change my opinion of the game? Not at all but you still have to wonder.

Graphics: Very nice... for a platform game. The worlds are detaled enough and very colorful. I especially like the way some of the buldings are warped at the top giving them a cartoon look!

The time icons are colorful and kind of remind me of the cereal Lucky Charms; red hearts, green diamonds, gold stars, but no purple horseshoes.

The bottom line is that the look of this game fits it perfectly. The camera at times can get in pretty tight but has not been an issue for me not like other 3D games out there.

Audio: I have to agree with some of the other reviewers here; one of the only sounds I can remember off of the top of my head, is the rewind sound just because I have heard it so much. See, everytime you die, the game "rewinds" itself about 5 seconds prior so you can imagine what I am talking about. The only other memorable sound is the theme song from the first level which sticks in your head. I hope this theme comes back on some of the later levels!

Suggestions: I hope you are working on a sequel!! Please add some functionality to the different clothes Blinx can wear other than the "coolness" factor and also try dubbing new voice overs for us English speaking customers. You did it on the title screen...
