DOOM 3 Theme Song
Noted producer-composers Chris Vrenna and Clint Walsh (Vrenna’s collaborator on his recent Tweaker project) have joined forces to produce the theme song to the highly anticipated DOOM 3, which is set for release on August 3rd, 2004 for PC, an official Xbox release date hasn’t been named yet. "We asked Chris to create a modern DOOM 3 theme song that reflected the character and intensity of DOOM 3, and we couldn’t be happier with the final product," said Todd Hollenshead, CEO, id Software, the developers of the game. "Chris and id have shared a mutual appreciation for each others work, and it was exciting to be able to team up on something that fans of both id and Vrenna will appreciate." Renowned as one of the founding members of Nine Inch Nails, Vrenna is no stranger to crafting rich, ambient textures and exciting sonic renditions for video games. Over the years he has produced and composed music for American McGee’s Alice, id Software’s Quake (while still a member of NIN), The Sims 2, and Enter The Matrix. He also has created music for the upcoming titles Tabula Rasa and Area 51. "I have been a fan of almost every game id has developed", said Vrenna. "I grew up on DOOM, Quake and Wolfenstein, so this was a huge honor for me to have been asked.
