Far Cry Officially Announced For Xbox 360

FAR CRY HITS XBOX 360 - AND XBOX AGAIN It’s welcome back to the jungle as Ubisoft whips out a double-barrelled first-person shooter delight Ubisoft has officially confirmed Far Cry for Xbox 360 and raised a few eyebrows with the announcement that a new title in the franchise is also blasting onto Xbox. We’ll kick off with the new Xbox game first (that’ll make sense in a minute), which is currently going under the working title of Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter. We’ve not been fed a whole lot of info but the FPS obviously boasts a new storyline, characters and game features that Ubisoft says "reflect and improve upon the critically acclaimed elements of the first title." Far Cry on Xbox 360 goes under the fancy name of Far Cry Instincts Predator and it’s actually a combination of Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter and the original Far Cry Instincts which appeared on Xbox. Naturally, the power under the next-gen console’s hood means the already slick visuals in FCI are getting boosted and other game mechanics are being tweaked too. "Far Cry Instincts on Xbox 360 will captivate gamers with its enhanced graphical reality and gameplay. Giving gamers the opportunity to discover the Far Cry universe in an optimized, high-definition environment, the game takes advantage of Xbox 360’s multi-core next-generation engine for improved performance. Gamers will experience advanced pathfinding and new enemy and vehicle artificial intelligence for improved chase scenes and more enemies on-screen at one time, allowing for more adrenaline-rushing fast-action sequences," Ubisoft has said in a press announcement. Far Cry Instincts Next Chapter and Far Cry Instincts Predator are currently penciled in for a spring 2006 release.
