It was a comedy of errors. Back in April at the MS Spring Showcase in SF, I asked him to sign a few plates. He wanted to know if I'd make him a plate. He said a tub girl plate would be hilarious. Well, literally months passed and I caught him completely blindsided at the Gears 2 launch with the plate. The next day, it was all over the 'net, and people were calling him a freak and all kinds of stuff. He even denied knowing anything about the plate in one of the forums. I mailed the plate to him along with two books I wanted signed for a guy in Australia, and I emailed him to apologize for the PR nightmare I'd created for him. He said it was cool, they weren't in on the joke, and he's a target for stuff like that because of who he is (which is true). He was very gracious, and signed and mailed the two books back to me. But I think I'd REALLY be pushing it to drop him an email and ask him about a console at this point, lol.
No wonder MS won't nominate me again for the MVP award. I'm certainly high profile and a "positive contributor to the Microsoft online community" but I'm also certainly less than "professional" a lot of the time.

For the original xbox, I have the halo edition, UK Crystal edition, and mountain dew.
Aha! I have one you don't have. Well, ok, my wife has it.
They released a clear green Xbox in the UK. Looked just like the Halo edition, but didn't have the wording on it. Anyway, apparently one of the defective UK green consoles was refurbished and send back out to the US with US guts and I bought it. So it's officially Microsoft with all seals intact and everything, but it's a UK/US hybrid.
Still rather have a blue Dead or Alive console, though.

Once you get the damn database working again, would you consider creating a databse of limited edition and other 'official' consoles. I've been scanning the web but this thread is the closest I've seen to a listing of consoles. I know there are a lot of other MS authorized consoles created to promote events / movies / games. I photos and links for around 40 unique consoles official consoles and tons of custom designed consoles for the 360.
I talked to Kamshaft today about "fixing" the issues. I was having trouble editing and didn't want to add any more until we figured out what the editing problem was, in case I was creating more problems that would need to be fixed later. His next "improvement" to the database will be adding spots for additional pictures. So, if you look at a plate, you'll be able to see additional pictures of the celebrities who designed them, or the place where they were on display, or if they were part of a console. Hopefully, at some point when we get the search part up, you'll be able to sort by "part of a complete console". Then we can have plates that were part of a set, and also plates that came with the side skins.

No, sorry. When I was at Game Crazy around 2005, they got one in as a refurb. I never even got to lay hands on it. I've only seen pics. I'm a DOAX nerd though so that was the one I wanted. I do have an Xbox shell with a DOAX skin on it.

I was watching another launch console that ended on Monday but I forgot to bid on it!I've only seen a couple on eBay ever and I freakin forget about the auction.
