UPDATE: Battlefield Open Beta begins Oct 4th, Oct 1st for Early Access
EA said last week that Battlefield 4’s open beta testing would begin on October 1 but neglected to answer one small important question: what about for people who are owed early access? Oh, the publisher has now explained, October 1 is when they’ll get to play. The actual properly open beta for us proles will begin on October 4.
People could have earned early access by pre-ordering BF4’s PC Digital Deluxe Edition, being BF3 Premium members or, heaven forbid, buying Medal of Honor Warfighter.
The open beta will let all and sundry play BF4’s multiplayer on its Shanghai map (the one where the skyscraper falls over, you know the one) in Conquest mode. EA neglects to say how long it’ll run for, but the game launches for current-gen systems on October 29, so not too long.
