Eidos Makes Dolby PromisesSan Francisco, October 9, 2001-Dolby Laboratories and Eidos Interactive, a leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment for the PC and console gaming systems, announced the inclusion of Dolby multichannel audio technology in all of Eidos upcoming releases, starting with Mad Dash Racing. As Eidos first game for the new Xbox video game system from Microsoft, Mad Dash Racing will employ the Dolby Interactive Content Encoder, a technology that dynamically encodes multichannel audio into a Dolby Digital 5.1 signal.
