Toejam & Earl III Special Xbox Live Content

With Microsoft’s recent debut of Xbox Live, Sega is quick to chime in with some special downloadable Toejam and Earl III characters and areas available only through the service. The three new characters and two additional levels can only be obtained by talking to a specific character in the game. Xbox Live subscribers will be able to access both the Hades Maze and Funkadelic levels, which offer the most lethal enemies and valuable prizes among the game’s areas in addition to colorful, mind-bending scenery. To romp on these and other levels, Sega has whipped up three new characters for download. The robot Suteki will act much like the game’s starlet Latisha, only with enhanced speed and jumping distance, as well as better luck when opening potentially dangerous gifts. A second robot, Earl Bot, has enhanced speed as well as the ability to inflict double damage. Finally, Toejam’s cousin Nerdy Toejam will be selectable and will run slower but jump higher farther than his funkadelic relative. The game is more lenient to Nerdy Toejam and his lack of rhyming skillz.
