Enter the Matrix is Released Today!

Enter The Matrix Sounds Amazing Jack’s Hoose Music Takes The Red Pill Dundee, Scotland. May 15th. The Matrix is everywhere, it is all around us. You can see it when you open your window and now, thanks to Jack’s Hoose Music, you can hear it when you plug Enter The Matrix into your games console. Founder of Jack’s Hoose Music, composer and producer Ged Grimes, announced today that he has produced a specially commissioned track for the highly anticipated new Enter The Matrix videogame. The track ’Dodge This’ features in one of the game’s climactic fight scenes and was specifically commissioned for the game at the request of videogames publisher, Infogrames Inc. Enter The Matrix is a unique new form of game, which forms an integral part of the overall Matrix storyline and blurs the distinction between the game and the movie. Developed under the creative direction of the Wachowski brothers, Enter The Matrix has been scripted by the Wachowski’s who also oversaw the game design, supervised the fight sequences, approved the music and actually filmed new 35mm movie sequences for use within the game itself. The game promises that actions in the movie will have consequences in the game world and vice versa. In short, the game promises to be as revolutionary as the movie itself. "Being asked to get involved in a game as innovative and high-profile as Enter The Matrix was extremely flattering", says Grimes. "I’m a massive fan of the movie and its style and this is one of the first game titles to really explore how a movie and a game can interact and each add value to the other. Who could resist such a project?" Writing and recording music for the game’s soundtrack proved a fascinating challenge for the company. "The game and movie are so closely entwined that everything had to fit together perfectly," notes Grimes. "The fight sequences are probably the most highly anticipated moments in The Matrix movies and the game fight sequences take your breath away so the music is fuelled entirely by adrenaline!" Ged Grimes is one of the most experienced figures in the rapidly evolving interactive music industry. Grimes’s illustrious record industry background, notably as a founder member of chart-topping band ’Danny Wilson’ ("Mary’s Prayer") and contributor to albums by artists such as Grammy award winner, Natalie Imbruglia ("Torn"), has enabled him to bring the highest level production values to the world of interactive entertainment and grasp emerging opportunities in this exciting area. "Games offer a unique new platform for music," says Grimes. "In movies a track may only be heard for a few seconds, but in games, where levels or scenes may be played and repeated many times, the audio component can be heard repeatedly. This makes it extremely important to ensure you’re creating music that stands up to this kind of attention. But also gives the artist a level of exposure and kudos that no other media can match." Grimes added, "I firmly believe games are leading the way in establishing innovative ways of hearing new music and artists and Jack’s Hoose Music are uniquely placed to take full advantage of this." Take the red pill. Enter the Matrix. Welcome to the real world! Enter The Matrix and The Matrix: Reloaded are released simultaneously on May 15th, 2003 for PC, Gamecube, X-Box and PlayStation 2.
