Xbox 2 To Be Smaller And Sleeker
Microsoft has previously insisted that it will beat Sony’s next console out the door with Xbox 2, 2005 seen as the likeliest year of release. However, according to Maruyama-san Xbox 2 "won’t be [out] next year". But his suggestion of 2006 for Japan release is in line with expectations. Talking further about Xbox 2, Maruyama-san confirmed that Microsoft fully intends to address the size issue of the original console: "We promise that we’ll make the new console smaller," he stated on the record.
