MS Dissing PS3
MICROSOFT IN PS3 DISS SHOCKER In which we ask: "Why cant we all just get along?" - J Allard slips on the gloves and lands a blow inside Its clearly fighting season down at the Microsoft watering hole with those bolshy Xbox execs at it again. This time around, J Allards been scraping his hooves and pointing his horns in the general direction of Sonys PS3 camp. And there ends an entirely tenuous and slightly unstable metaphor, so on with the story! In an interview with industry publication MCV, Allard has once again waxed lyrical about the lack of any tangible PS3 offerings at this years TGS: "We dont want to hide behind videos, we dont want to hide behind CGI movies, we dont want to hide behind false promises - everything we showed on stage was real. Our medium is an interactive one. Showing isnt enough." The Xbox VP is keen to stress that for all Sonys hyperbole regarding next-gen specifications, Microsoft is the only company to have demonstrated a working console and games. Furthermore, Allard wonders how accurate Sonys stated spring 2006 PS3 launch can be, given that little in the way of firm announcements regarding the console have been made as yet: "Theres a big gap between what Sony claims and what theyve shown. You might have thought our X05 presentation was a bit on long side, but theyll need an eight-hour press conference pretty soon just to give people confidence in that [...] date theyve mentioned. Theres a lot of stuff they just dont have in place yet. They make nice movies, though." Almost as if the MS boys have some kind of running bet to see which one of them can be feistiest in public, Robbie Bach also raises a questioning brow, pondering gleefully: "I was stunned they didnt announce anything at E3 or TGS. Whatever they do, theyre going to be chasing us for a long, long time."Source: http://www.computerandvideogames.com
