When Activision released Spider-Man a few years ago it was a surprisingly decent title. Normally comic book hero\'s don\'t translate well to video game. However Treyarch did a commendable job with the original especially following along the story lines of the movie."

Overall: I really enjoyed this game. It is a great distraction from some of the ?heaver? titles this season (Riddic, Manhunt, etc), and provides excellent bang-for-your-buck potential. You can play this game for well over 30 hours, or you can beat it in 10. It?s your choice. Too many games don?t let you make that game. Spider-Man 2 tried to give you the freedom to just play the game, and do what you want, and it succeeded at that. Sure the graphics could have been better, but the gameplay was so good that you didn?t notice that there was some fuzziness around some of the textures here and there. This game is like your first college girlfriend, it may not what you want to spend the rest of your semester with, but it?s great fun for a couple of months.

Gameplay: The gameplay in this title is outstanding. Those of you who played the first title will remember the fun that slinging around New York was. Well take that fun, multiply it by 10, and you have Spider-Man 2. One of the most brilliant things that this game accomplished was that the whole city of New York is open, with no load times, and no hiccups between areas. You can literally sling from one end of the Big Apple to the other. It?s truly fun. I spent several hours simply slinging all over the place. Not really accomplishing anything, but that?s the fun of this game. You?re not forced into completing any missions, or doing anything. Obviously you should if you want to progress in the game, but you don?t have to?and that freedom is awesome. You can?t do anything per se, since you cannot be a villain, but you can do just about everything else.

You are able to go on missions by speaking to people, or activating hovering markers throughout the city. Occasionally, you?ll be swooping through Manhattan and you?ll hear people below you screaming ?help? or some other cry for assistance, and you?ll know that there?s something going on below you. Also Peter Parker will sometimes interrupt you with a phrase like ?Oh great! I?m going to be late for class!? and you?ll be encouraged to go somewhere and meet someone, which also advances the plot.

The combat is pretty good. It?s limiting, at first, but as you continue to purchase upgrades for Spider-man you are able to do a lot more. It is a fairly solid aspect to this game, as any action game should have. Where the game bogs down is during the boss battles. They are tedious at best, and can be so ridiculously irritating that it makes you pull tufts of hair out of your head. But this does not ruin the game, thankfully. I don?t know when it became acceptable to make bosses impossibly difficult, or ultra easy to beat but with an annoying manner of defeat, but it seems that we?ve had a slew of games in recent memory that have adopted this strategy (Ninja Gaiden, Devil May Cry, Metal Slug 3, etc). Thankfully, the major portions of this game are consumed with web-slinging from building to building, completing various challenges and tasks?being that superhero that you were always meant to be.

Graphics: Overall the graphics are okay. They don?t look as good as Ninja Gaiden, and don?t look as bad as Drake and the 99 Dragons. But I?m not sure they could have provided Ninja Gaiden quality graphics and still allow for the whole of New York to be rendered simultaneously. The full motion video looks a bit awkward, especially when the camera is zoomed in on any of the characters, and the models move like they?re doing ?The Robot? anytime they move. The in game experience is pretty fun, you move seamlessly through the Big Apple, and Spidie looks pretty good doing it. You won?t be dazzled, but you won?t be disappointed either.

Sound: Pretty decent voice acting. Not all the real voices from the movie but pretty decent overall. Some of spideys one liners get old FAST.

Overall: I'll start off with the positives about the game, you can swing through the whole city and feal like spiderman, and thats it. The game has a good concept and if done right would make an excellent game but they couldn't pull it off. The gameplay, camera, missions, side missions all suck. I'm trying to be nice but there is absolutely no reason to buy the game.
Gameplay: The gamplay is you swinging from one side of the city for a mission, then swing back to the other side for your next mission, boring and annoying. When you actully play the missions you'll be amazing on how boring they are, then add the fact the camera is so bad some things are so annoying you just want to quit, I was fighting a boss battle and couldn't see for crap on where I was going, add on the swing system is fun but still as annoying as the camera makes for a bad game.
Graphics: Visuals are the upside to the game, they recreated New York City for you to swing around, they are done well and are the best thing about the game.
Sound: The sound is alright, they have the voices from the actors who were in the movie but nothing spectactular.
Suggestions: The game was just bad, the missions, camara, side missions, even the story sucked. So my suggestion would be fix it.

Overall: Overall, great! I was hesitant to buy this game. I thought that the first SpiderMan was an all right game, nothing exceptional, and not worth the price. I got this game against my better judgement. Sure enough I put it in and right away I was pissed off with it. I couldn't swing very well. THEN I learned HOW! OMG! Just swinging through the city is AMAZING! The whole city is there WITHOUT A LOAD SCREEN! You gotta buy the game just to go for a swing!

Then I was upset again.

The game gets painfully repetitive.

Then I started to unlock Spidey's cool moves, now I can just fight forever. I've finished the game, but I still play as much now as I did when I was trying to finish it!
Gameplay: Well you start out as kinda a weak SpiderMan. Then through doing assorted missions you get points. Using these points you can upgrade yourself. A lot of the game is free time. You can do what you want. I like that, from time to time the plot comes in, but for the most part you do what you want.

They put in a couple of extra villains. This was nice, I would like to have seen a little more of Rhino. He is a really cool bad guy, but fighting him in this game was just pathetically easy. Actually this game really is quite easy. I think that they wanted to make it so that the kiddies could clear it too. That's ok with me. I take my pride in making the game LOOK pretty. And in this game you can make it look gorgeous!
Graphics: Though the graphics are far from ground breaking, they did put an entire city (including stores that you can go inside, traffic, and pedestrians) on the screen at one time. This is everything. You can go ANYWHERE. You could swing all day and not get all around the city. It's IMMENSE!
Sound: There isn't really much music in the game. Sometimes it's just the sound of your webbing. The voice over was awesome though. They got almost all of the real actors to play their parts. Spidey's sarcasm was done well.
Suggestions: Not really. You have made a good game 1,000 times better. You could teach me a thing or two!

I guess if I wanted to knick pick though; you could use more missions. I had them all memorized in a couple of hours. It's the crime that's MOST appealing. I did like the other options though.

You did a GREAT job. Thank you for this game.

Overall: After reading many lukewarm reviews about this game I decided to just buy it and see for myself whether it was good or not. Well Im definitely glad I did because Spiderman2 is by far one of the most unique and fun games Ive played in a long while. For the first time I actually feel like Im the character Im playing. The webslinging, wall crawling and spider combat has been phenomenally improved and is !&%$@#* near flawless. Sure the story part of the game is short as heck but if you really want to know what its like to lead the everyday life of the wall crawler then you will enjoy this game even after you've defeated Doc Ock.
Gameplay: The most amazing thing about this game is the webslinging. There is the most incredible sense of freedom, speed and control when your swinging through the city leaping from building to building and performing all sorts of cool ariel manuevers. They did a great job on all of Spideys movements and the cool upgrades you can buy only increase what he can do. Not to mention the fact that the city is HUGE and completely devoid of invisible walls and ceilings. You see a tall skyscraper, then climb it, dive off the top and shoot a web right before hitting the ground. It's very exhillerating and I still get a kick out of doing it. For me, combat didnt really start to get fun until I learned how to use my spidey sense better and until I bought cooler combos. But it's these upgrades that help keep the game fun and worth playing.
Graphics: Like Spiderman when he runs out of web fluid this is where the game falls short. Visually Spiderman himself and the city of Manhatten are incredibly detailed and look great but all the other characters including Peter Parker look like they were bussed over from Playstation 1 village. Its disappointing to see such poor graphics in such a great game. However, will it stop me from playing it? Me thinks not.
Sound: I for one really enjoyed the sound in this game. The voice acting is good and the music is great especially since its not constantly blaring at you and varies from time to time. Plus they've added enough different comments so that you dont here the same sentence 50 times in a row. Way to go Spidey!
Suggestions: Spiderman has been around for decades so I find it hard to believe that there isnt just a bit more story that could be added to beef up the game. If you can add the Shocker and Rhino I'm sure there are a few more villians that could be thrown in. Also, next time, take your time and improve the graphics.

Overall: Great game. I loved it. It was absolutely awesome. It is a short story but still good. You have total access to the city. The fun part is you can view your game stats like what you all did.
Gameplay: It is great. The fun part is just doing little crimes not the storyline. You can even buyt moves. The wbeswinging is fun. The game stats are cool like biggest fall mine was 1480 off the empire state building it was fun.
Graphics: This is where it gets a one. The games has awful videos. Spider-man and Doc Ock are the best drawn. Everyone has big hands and i dont know why
Sound: I don't know mouths didnt move and the voices got repetive, but it was good. It went along with the game because you could tell where trouble was
Suggestions: Make more crimes. Maybe a bit long. Get rid of time limits unless its with somethign like being late. Add more coll charaters like scorpion.

Overall: Overall this game is much better than the first. The creaters did an amazing job on the web swinging which is the obvious reason people want to play as Spiderman. But I think they concentrated on it too much and hoped it would be enough to keep the gamers playing without improving on the actual gameplay.
Gameplay: Gameplay is pretty shady. You basically do the same challenges over and over and over. This makes the gameplay pretty boring after you do each challange once.
Graphics: Visually this game isnt that spectacular. The city is very vast and impressive in that sense but the people and buildings look more like PS1 graphics than what the XBOX is capable of.
Sound: The voice overs in this game are pretty bad i gotta say. However, the sounds of the webs shooting from Spidey and the fact that when you are going very fast or falling from a tall building you are able to hear the wind is a good touch and adds to the realness.

Overall: I only had 2 hours to play this game at Eb games, and i was allready impressed within the first 10 minutes.
Gameplay: Some of the best gameplay i have ever seen. You can swing normally then jump spin two webs and swing by them. Amazing...
Graphics: Very detailed and smooth graphics, the webs look real, and fly by and grab enemys like they were flys. (ironic eh?)
Sound: I really only heard sound in the movie-scenes, when the characters talk, and the webs flying around.
Suggestions: Try putting in some music or allow the user to play thier own soundtracks.

Overall: I found this game at first shocking, bad graphics terrible sound badly based voice acting, horrible dynamic lighting and most of all Spiderman had no calf muscles in his leg, well I was ready to cry and just dump the game now but no I stuck through and boy am I happy! you will find out later but first im doing an overall so where should I start? Your Spiderman you live in New York your job to stop all crimes even the smallest like saving balloons for 4 year old children, the game starts off with a little intro to the city and Spiderman and some minor details about himself, the game give's you the full Spiderman experiance there is nothing missed from the game nor is there in the gameplay. Many peep's were unsure about this game they had no real news on it and it came out of no-where some people really trust Activision but I have had my eye on them ever since Spiderman 2: Elctro witch was a waste of my money even if it was on the PS1 I found it rubbish and very liner, this game was supposed to give you GTA gameplay where you did what you want and see what you want they did not lie, the whole of New York is open to you and its MASSIVE no joke it is really big I climbed up the highest building I could and I could see for ages even the Statue of liberty is in here but its a secret how to get there :). Although the game could have been much more better and more effective in the Spiderman expereince it is still an amazing game, gameplay wise.
Gameplay: The gameplay is fantastic web-slinging has been updated it is now more real there is no more shooting webs at the sky and sticking onto the sun or the moon you have to be below and near enouth to a sky scraper or large building to web swing it feels so real, there is nowhere you can go the area is massive im talking bigger than GTA3 islands put togeather! There are the missions and Side missions I will start about the side missions first as there a bit irratating after awhile. Ok your Spiderman and you hear a girl shout for help first thing that passes your mind is rape or even kidnapping you dash over there quickly just to find she has let go of her Pink balloon and wants it back so you climb the building to the top and jump up to grab this balloon just to give it to a little girl... yeh amazing or even why not Pizzaman! Go deliver Pizzas for the pizza shop sounds cool huh?!?! it is funny and fun to begin with but it quickly get boring but there are some decent side missions witch involve the normal stuff so I dont need to explain. The main mission are really long and quite challenging and different but very fun, I was shocked at the difficulty and the skill you need to do the missions I was so happy when I got the first mission complete, also it is impossable to do the game with out buying upgrades, buy these upgrades with hero points you gain heropoints for doing the side missions, great gameplay I am so happy I own this game!
Graphics: Nothing speachil althouth the graphic's seem to get more better as the game progresses it is really wierd! the clouds in the sky are rubbish looks like my sister did it blind folded useing her feet to chop the paper to look like clouds, not impressed and the clip scenes are awful at the beggining but really do seem to get better as the game progresses!
Sound: Annoying and very stressing when your on a hard part and all you can hear are bag pipes, although the helicopters sound real....!
Suggestions: Great game just could have worked on the visuals and the sound but still a great game! bring on the next Spiderman I am sure you will have it next time! I have written this reveiw sick at 4:21am so if there is any spelling misakes or lack of information just email me or PM me.

Overall: Spiderman 2 is a real departure from Spiderman: The Movie game. With a free roaming city, plenty little things to do, and a deep combat system Spiderman 2 has a new look.
Gameplay: The people behind this game really went all out to make the swinging as fun and realistic as the movies by adding tricks (although doing them earns no reward or points), the ability to do that tight slingshot move, and a albeit 1 button, but very deep combat system that uses things like the jump and new dodge features really pulls things together. Now for the low points. Once you Beat the game you probably wont want to collect those 100s of tokens again and the missions range from fun to annoying to repetitive making this a game you will play for a while then put up and play again later. And a minor point is the story has suffered a bit.
Graphics: The visuals are one thing that really didn't get as much polish as it should have. The city looks nice with huge buildings and real lighting but the characters look blurry and undetailed and there is hardly any notable damage throughout the game to objects like after beating the hell out of a car there isn't any notable sign that you whacked it enough to stop it. But everything from night and light effects and city designs are very good.
Sound: This is the lowest point in the game by far. The music rarely kicks in thankfully due to things like a maddening pizza song. And someone please give the worst idea for anything ever to whoevers idea it was to have baby crying in this game.
Remember dumb and dumber? The most annoying sound in the world question?
Yeah, well they were right. The enemy
voices aren't bad except when you hear
an escaping man in a ski mask getting into a pos pinto shout "executing escape plan epsilon!". I dare you not
to laugh. The civilian voices are also mostly annoying with just some low accents and sounding like the actors were staff members reading the lines from a peace of paper. Even
Toby's voice lacks alittle on spots but that's mostly cause of the script.
Suggestions: Don't rush the next game to meet with the movie cause really the game wasn't all that accurate movie-to-game
Transition. Spiderman 2 was a great game but you guys could have taken it to an amazing level had you had polish time. I know this mostly isn't your fault since the movie people wanted it out by the movies release and I also read in a magazine that you guys started right after finishing the first game so good for you.

Overall: Great, fun and addicting game. Especially for casual gamers, who like games where you can mess around endlessly for hours. Even aftr you think you're sick of it, you find yourself playing it again in a matter of hours.
Gameplay: The swinging dynamics are phenomenal. I've spent more time swinging around the city than I have on the missions. Real life physics in terms of free fall, web elasticity etc. are great. The controls take a little getting used to, but after a bit of prcatice, you'll never notice.
Graphics: The gameplay really takes over for the graphics, which are sub-par by next-gen system standards. Everything is moving so fast, and the control is excellent, so you'll rarely notice. The times where this really evident is the petty crime cutscenes. But again, what it lacks in graphics sharpness is more than made up in game play and fun.
Sound: The rush of the wind during long swings is great! The music seems sporadic, and the voice acting is so-so. Aside from that, there's not a lot to speak of.
Suggestions: This game is a great foundation for the next release...it's lightyears ahead of this first one. I would recommend MORE side missions and crimes to stop. Perhaps stumbling onto bigger things like crime rings, etc. This would add intrigue, without having to "force" the use of super villains. Some of the missions were a little weak too (weka meaning, not fun.) I wouldn't change a thing in terms of gameplay, especially swinging mechanics.

Overall: A very good game. The city is absolutely massive. However, some of the missions at lame, and I'm really sick of all these time limits. Also, the game story is waaaaay too short. You can burn through the game in a couple of hours easily. It's more of a rental than a buy.
Gameplay: The web-swinging ability is really a lot of fun. However, some of the fighting gets really frustrating, especially the Doc Ock fight at the end. You can get hit once, bounce around the level, then go face first into the water, and therefore dying.
Graphics: Spiderman along with his friends and foes look really great, but looking at the city from a distance looks like a game from the Playstation 1. However, most of the inner city's graphics are really well done.
Sound: Most of the voice acting is done very well, however, there are a lot of gaps in between the speeches that really take away from the game. The music is also far from exciting.
Suggestions: MAKE THE STORY IN THE GAME LONGER!!! I also think that they should ditch all the stupid time limits, and have more and better quality side missions (citizens in distress).

Gameplay: Awesome! this game lets you feel what it is to be spider-man like never before. You literally can do anything!
Graphics: Nice, clean, and very detailed. The city looks amazing! There is almost no slowdown when swinging from the buildings.

Overall: a huge jump over the first spiderman... amazing graphics, virtually no load times, go in and out of building with NO load time.
Gameplay: gmaeplay is easy, takes a little while to get the proper swing technique, (unless you are using easy swing) and angle you want to travel in. fighting is as easy as tapping 1 button or using combos of 3 - 4 buttons.
Graphics: graphics are very good..., almost ninja gaiden quality. thousands of skyscrapers and apartments litter the sky with great detail.
Sound: sound is good, i do like the fact that the actual movie stars are doing the voices instead of cheap voice over actors.....
Suggestions: i won't say make a 3rd one, becuase i'm sure its in the works right now with the 3rd spiderman movie.. just have it ready for XB2
