Description

The land of Albion is a wild, beautiful place. There are bustling market towns where thieves lurk in every shadow. Woodcutters' encampments are nestled on the shores of forest lakes while strange sounds fill the night air. Brave fishermen live out their austere existence in coastal villages wracked by storms. Fur-hooded mountain children listen to tales of the demons that lurk in the darkness while wolves howl at the moon. The people who live there are much like the people anywhere - They are thieves and gentlemen, assassins and clergymen, storekeepers and housewives. One day, something comes along which changes their lives forever. You.

Overall: Overall this is a solid title that i'd reccomend to anybody. If you're a hardcore RPG fan you might find it a tad short though.
Gameplay: The gameplay is very fun and addicting. I couldn't find one problem with the gameplay. The fighting system is very cool.
Graphics: The overall graphics are very good. i didn't notice any graphic glitches or anything to that effect.
Sound: The sound is amazing in this game. The music that is played during Fable is astonishing. I absolutely love the soundtrack to this game.
Suggestions: Maybe next time make it a little longer.

Overall: I thought this was a good game but it just didn't live up to the hype which was made over the years. The game delivers but just not was expected and in the end it just feels like just another game to me. I think this would be good to buy when the price lowers some more but that's it. As well, the easy boss killed the game for me a lot. I didn't go through all the time to just easily own the boss.
Gameplay: The story and content was pretty good I think. There was a lot to the game and a lot you could interact with. The rpg/action style was good and made the game more exciting knowing that your character formed the way you played him. The controls were easy to use as well so anyone can play.
Graphics: I think the characters and environments were done well in this game. There is a lot of attention to detail and overall I think it was done pretty good. But, I still think it could have been made just a little more eyepopping with smooth graphics.
Sound: There was a lot of sounds in the game like weapons and spells and things and this added to the game. Every person/thing had its own sound so this was good because for the most part it wasn't like other games where it's the exact voice all the time.

Overall: Fable is a great game and it's main shortcoming is that it was hyped up way too much. Everyone expected a super deep and open ended experience where you could do anything you wanted. the game is fairly open ended and there is a lot of great features such as the good and evil system.
Gameplay: Every time you do an evil deed like kill someone, you get evil points, and when you do something benevolent like save someone's life, you get good points. The combat system is excellent and there is a good amount of customization. you can choose from a wide variety of clothes, some that look heroic and some that look villan-like. you can also choose from a plethora of weapens, and also make add-ons to these weapons such as flame or ice power.
Graphics: The visuals are pretty good. the player models are great and you can see subtle things like chicken feathers fly when you kick a chicken, or ripples as you walk through shallow water.
Sound: The voice acting and sound effects are fair... some of the characters can get annoying at times, but this is not rare for an RPG game like this. Villagers will sometimes say the exact same thing as other villagers.

Overall: Since RPG's generally involve lots of cutscenes or just areas of the game where there a text bubbles, they should A) have a good storyline and B) be lengthy in order to be good. I'm not saying like 80+ hours lengthy, but any RPG I consider a classic is usually longer than 15-20+. Something that takes 10-12 generally isn't a classic even though it could be good, and that is where Fable lies. I traded the game as soon as I beat it cuz there's no incentive to replay after. I mean you get a wicked sword at the end of the game (especially if you are evil), but the game didn't come as advertised. There wasn't an infinite amount of stuff to do like in Morrowind, which is what I was expecting, Morrowind with a better combat system. In the end, I got a good romp of an RPG, but defintely not as amazing as I hoped.
Gameplay: Stuff like fist fighting, getting your nick name changed (which I strongly recommend doing cuz the only thing I heard the first two hours was "chicken...chaser, chicken chaser?" every 3 seconds in a town), drinking, etc. is all fine and dandy, but none of it really helps your character advance into being a more bad-ass character. So then you have the combat, the early enemies are so easy to kill with a crossbow, whenever they charge, just hit'em with an arrow and they stop, shuffle around, and then charge again. It was too easy. Also, the setup was very different from anything else I had played, so it took a while to get used to the controls. I didn't really explore the love aspect so I never had a wife. You can get spells and abilities which excluding like Rage where you guy gets wicked muscular at it's higher levels, I really wasn't too impressed by how any of them looked. I'd say rent this, but with the Lost Chapters coming out soon, I'd rent that instead.
Graphics: Well this is an area you can't really complain about. Some of the spell effects are indeed weak, but the graphics are astounding. All enviroments and characters are beautifully detailed, especially how your characters face changes over time as he develops. My guy was extremely evil. One thing I noticed was that the scars, which you were suppose to obtain only through battle, appear in the same spot no matter where you get hit. But the horns and the red aura, and the tattoos, just make your guy look like one scary m*****f***er. Your characters does grow overtime, though it doesn't seem like more than a day before you've advanced from very young boy to old and experienced magic caster. Defintely a good looking game, though a mess load of light bloom I must say.
Sound: Well just about all the dialogue with villagers and the like is repeated so sometimes you will get a laugh, but once you hear it too much, it starts to get on your nerves, which is why I'm more towards the evil side. When I hear something I hate get repeated, slice and dice baby. Though what is nice is the villagers that look old, weak, or feeble sound it and those that look tough, badass, and could crush you with their two fingers sound it as well. The thunks and cluds of combat aren't anything special, but they aren't too weak.
Suggestions: Ambition and execution. Might wanna do both of'em at the same time if that's how you hyped the game. I wouldn't recommend a sequel mainly because I feel gamers are too disappointed and wouldn't believe anything that was said about the second one.

Overall: I believe Fable is one of the best RPG games I have played to date. Great graphics, great storyline, it's a game that you shouldn't think twice about getting.
Gameplay: Being that Fable is an RPG game, I find the gameplay to be quite fun. I don't like tons of RPG games, but I believe this one is at the top of my list. At first I didn't know what to think, but I got hooked on the game. It's fun when you can chose to do as you please in the game. You take a quest and pick whether you want to be evil or a good person. There is quite to do in this game, and you'll realize it is quite addicting.

I think one of my favorite games I played that I thought was addicting was Zelda for N64. I thought when buying this that it would be 10x better, and I was right. There truely is so much you can do in this game. Get mad and kill everyone and steal anything in your path and everyone will be afraid of your. Or go about being a hero and everyone will seem to like you.

Some of the cool things you can do in this game is gain more powers, you can be a full out wizard, or be one of the strongest guys in this game, or heck do both. Other things you can do are owning buildings (taverns, shops, houses for example), or go and get married. Or going around giving good or bad expressions to people. There is so much more to this game, and that's why I think this game has reached the top to one of the best.

Graphics: I think the visual on this game is awesome. Get in battles and get cut. It's going to show where you got cut by showing scars. Get evil, you're growing horns, and losing hair. Get stronger, it's going to show more muscle. Eat all the time, you're going to become a big fatty. Stay in the sun for along time, it will show that you have.

Overall I think the graphics are great, the surrounding area looks great, and so does you're guy in the game.
Sound: I can't complain about the sound. Like some games you have to read what a person says when you go about the game. However in this it does have subtitles to read, although the people do talk in this game along with it. People get scared if you are evil in this game, sometimes will run and scream. Or they will go about clapping for you. There isn't much variety in the game for background music, but I think that's the only downside to the sound department. Although it may bother some that there isn't a ton of music, I don't have one thing to complain about it.
Suggestions: I just have a few suggestions for them.

One would be to never stop making these games, the first one had a great storyline. I hope to expect the same for the upcoming ones.

I guess this game would be more fun if you could do even more in this game. Here's some suggestions:

- If you tick someone off enough, whether you punch them a ton or whatever. I think it would be cool if you actually had enemies in the game that will come after you.

- Animals? Where's the dang horses to ride when I'm sick of running around? heh.

- More evil options. Burn down houses, set up traps, you know the good stuff!

Can't think of anything else at the time, but I look forward in the next Fable!

Overall: The most unique game ever. One of the best looking and its an RPG. Many weapons and mana in this one. Can't get enough, replay value through the roof.
Gameplay: It starts out when you are a child when your families home is destroyed by bandits and everyone is thought to be dead. Then you are rescued and taken to the Guild where you become a Hero. This is where you start your apprenticeship where you gain strength, skill and will. When you grow up you can go on quest that you chose either good or evil. Before you go on the quest you can make a boost of your abilities by choosing what you are going to do in the quest, which if completed gives you extra points. The stronger you are the bigger weapons you can carry. How you decide the way you go either good or bad your appearance changes.
Graphics: Fully customizable characters from clothes to the hair style. The environments look fantastic and are huge.
Sound: This is a great sounding game, from the birds chirping to the voice overs, this game is perfect in this department.
Suggestions: Fable 2. Can't wait!

Overall: Fable is a game that is hard to score. On one side we have the hype. Fable was hyped up to be the best RPG of all time, with open-ended gameplay, a massive and sprawling world, and very deep gameplay. Even though Fable turned out to be a good game, it is nowhere near as good as i expected. And for being in development for over 4 years, it certaintly doesn't show. Honestly, i cannot see how this game took so long when there are bigger and better RPGs that are done and out faster. Instead of a long open-ended journey, i got a short 10 hour quest, and as for a massive world to explore, they gave us a very small world with fenced in areas and sectioned off areas to be each loaded as you get to them. But for what it was, and not from what i was expecting, Fable still was entertaining and fun.
Gameplay: Forget the whole deep RPG thing, Fable is more of an adventure game with RPG elements. Yes, your character's appearance can change, but the game just doesn't feel nearly as deep as the top RPGs on Xbox. For instance, the weapon selection and clothing selection is extremely small. The gimmick for them is that there are alternate materials for the weapons. That means that the bronze sword and the steel sword look exactly the same (minus the color difference).

The story of Fable kicks off to your village being massacred before your young eyes. You are saved by a mysterious man who takes you to the Hero's Guild to be trained. Once proper training is complete, you then are able to go to the guild to recieve g in Fable suffers from the same fault, that there's just not enough of anything. There's not enough unique NPC skins, not enough clothing options, not enough weapons, not enough world to see, not enough quests, not enough enemy types....and you can figure out the rest. But then you say, well at least i'll be able to replay it a lot (since the slogan for the game is that every choice has a consequence). The problem with this is that no matter what you do in the game, the story stays the same. There are some in-mission decisions, like whether you should kill a character for a prize or let the character live...but for whichever of the choices you make, nothing in the game changes. There is the whole good and evil thing, which will encourage many people to try both sides, but like i said, the story never changes, and the only difference for being evil is that people run away from you.

For the experience points in the game, you'll gain points to spend depending on how you kill an enemy. For instance, if you kill an enemy with a bow and arrow, you'll gain experience points to spend in the bow and stealth category. Same goes for the magic and the sword combat.

So overall for Fable's gameplay, if you were expecting it to be deep, it's not, and if you were expecting it to be long, it's not (i beat the game in 12 hours, and some people beat it in under 10). But while it lasts, it still is quite fun, even if you feel disapointed that this isn't the epic, ambitious RPG you hoped for.
Graphics: Visually, the game looks good. The environments look unbelievable, but then again, there's not too much environment to see. Invisible walls pop up everywhere, and fences won't allow you to stray from paths. Plus the load times come very often while traveling through areas.

A very good thing visually will be your character, who'll change depending on how you play the game. If you get hit a lot and damaged, you'll develop scars, and if you use experience points to gain strength, your muscles will get bigger.
Sound: The music in Fable is very good. The theme for the game is done by Dan Elfman, and fits perfectly into the whimsical sense and feel of the game. The voice overs are ok, since a lot of the characters have annoying voices and accents.
Suggestions: I want to be able to roam around, and not be limited to narrow paths! There were also way too many loading screens.

Overall: Fable is an indepth RPG that takes characters into a whole new level of choice and control as they venture through the world fighting evil.
Gameplay: Fable is fun. It is fun enough that I'm sure anyone picking up the controller would enjoy themselves. From the massive arsenal to the attack powers to the monsters and storyline, Fable is groundbreaking in the RPG world.
The only real issue with the game is the fact you can beat it in 8 hours.
Graphics: The graphics in Fable are w0wxorz. Great everything. Only real issue is the world is fairly small compared to other RPG's.
Sound: The music is beautiful. Sound effects great. Fables sound brings the game to life in ways only... uhh... it could do?
Suggestions: Make it longer and dont include useless crap like being able to have gay marriges.

Overall: Fable was a multi-directional adventure game that was nearly killed by hype that no game could live up to. It was a decent game, but even with the whole good/bad fates aspect It didn't offer enough replay value for me.
Gameplay: A whole bunch of different spells and the experience-multiplier thing kept this game from being another one of those "enter an area, kill everyone, enter new area and repeat" kinda games. Some pretty neat magical stuff made it more than just a sword-swinging exercise.

Lots of cool stuff to buy, but not as much as games like dungeon siege.
Graphics: Graphics were quite swell, I haven't played the game in a while and I don't remember them being particularly awesome or bad. The environments were good, the forest had some nice detail.
Sound: Full voice and cool sound effects. I wouldn't have settled for any less on an xbox game :)

Good atmospheric music and different dialogue for nearly every character. Pretty sweet
Suggestions: Make it longer! I had this game beaten in a matter of days and sadly didn't touch it again. That sword at the end wasn't enough to make me want to play it through multiple times.

I'd check out a sequel if one gets made

Shadow20002
Date reviewed: June 7, 2005.

Overall: After finishing twice, i think this is just a pure great RPG action from the start to finish. The fighting system, the graphics, the story and everything else is well-balanced enough to satisfy most players that cry out loud for a RPG.
Gameplay: You control a boy (name what you want) that lives as childhood until a tragic event that change his fate forever. Being recrute by a mysterious mage to join the Heroe's Guild, he learn a lot from there. From the start, your stats is very limited, so be careful as you travel around Albion. The training section is very in-dept so you can pratice as long as you want. You can earn experience by defeating monsters, creatures, bandits or anythign that cross your path. If you don't like the face of a villager, kill them. Yeah, the creator of Fable have made such a freedom that will keep you wow for a while. But rest assure that if you do something bad, you will be reward as evil points rather than good points. You can shape your character by the way you want it to be, even a punk-like style is in there also.
Graphics: The graphics is one the greatest effects you will ever seen on a Xbox. The land is lush and fully detailed like never before seen in a RPG in Xbox. The magic effects are also very cool to watch.
Sound: The sound is not always there, until there are something going intense. The music is just like Morrowind, one song from the start to finish, maybe is just make it original.
Suggestions: Well, i know there are the new version that have new lands, new weapons and armors, new quests but we need THIS in Xbox also. I just hope we will have Fable 2 like the way "Fable" means to be.

Overall: A great story of how a boy becomes a man and seeks out vengeance on the bandits that destroyed his town and killed his family. Very pleasing game but it did have its down sides.
Gameplay: Very cool gameplay. The perfect mix of swordmanship, archery, and magic. I really liked how many styles you were able to fight with. Plus every decision affecting your future. Take the path of the good or the bad. Though freedom was limited, the freedom of choice wasn't which was a plus. You decide your destiny and you face the consequences. I would have liked a more variety in enemies though.
Graphics: AWESOME graphics. Some of it was absolutely beautiful and it had me awestruck on how nice everything looked. Then environments, the characters, everything.
Sound: Very detailed as far as sound goes. You could hear birds chirping, waves crashing, leaves rustling, and the townsfolk conversing. The sound was just so pleasing to the ears and it forced me to get more into the game.
Suggestions: Don't overhype, especially if you can't back it up. Next time, actually complete the game and don't tease the players with things like ships and paintings of dragons that you never fight. Shame on you for not completing the game for the XBOX were it truly belongs!

Overall: Great RPG. All your actions manifest themselves in the game and your appearance...spend too much time in the sun and you'll get tanner, fight too much and you'll get scars...be a good little hero nd and you get a halo...b a bad little hero nd you get devil horns. You can even flirt, marry, and bang your wife. Games a little short tho...you can go through every quest in one week so its best you just rent it.
Gameplay: Gameplay is great. The world of fable is vast, and u can either explore every inch..or teleport from one place to another. The fighting system is great. In other games enemies attack so fast, the parry button is useless...in fable, it saves your life.
Graphics: Graphics are O.k. has a more cartoon-like approach than other games....but of course, games arent about realism...its about fun.
Sound: hm...i forgot the music, as i rented the game. I dont remember having any complaints about the sound tho so ill give it a 4 in sound...

Overall: It was good. Not a great groundbreaking experience like promised but I never bought into the hype anyway. Definately worth a rent since its so short. I had a lot of fun with it and who knows, I may pick it up again and finish my evil character.
Gameplay: One word short. Almost everyone can get it done in under 15 hours. The game is fun but the story is a bit corny and uses a lot of cliches. Fighting is good. Pretty much just hack and slash though, nothing too deep. The magic is pretty fun to use but wasnt my main defense. Archery was pretty pointless to me but could be fun for others. The way townfolk react to you character depending on his alignment is a great addition, sometimes funny too. My only gripe about the alignment feature is that its too easy to be completely evil and then suddenly redeem itself.
Graphics: Above average. Beautiful in some places but there was the occasional bit of pop-in or texture problems. Nothing special really to talk about besides some of the visuals for some of the magic spells which look very well done.
Sound: Like sound, nothing special. Voice acting is decent. Didnt notice much music but that could be because it wasnt too great. Sword fights sound convincing and the magic has some pretty cool sound effects.
Suggestions: Dont overhype if you know you cant meet it.

Overall: Overall it was a good RPG. Definitly too overhyped but that doesn't change the actaul quality of the game. It's fun and good for casual gamers since it doesn't require a lot of patience but it still has something to offer for hardcore RPG'ers.
Gameplay: The fighting is simple is intuitive. You can quickly switch between ranged, melee, and magic attacks during a fight. I didn't get tired of the fighting at all which is suprising since there is a lot of it in this game. I wish there had been more stealth in the game because the way it is it seems more like an action RPG then just an RPG.
Graphics: Visualy this game was stunning. The charcters and enviroments had stunning detail. The only problem is that you can't examine the enviroments in too much detail since you have to follow a path, but that is more of a gameplay issue.
Sound: They did the music in this game well. There's a central theme in the music which carries through in eversong of the game. One versions for general combat, another for the dark woods, and another for the towns, etc. It prevents a sharp change between songs while still being varied. The rest of the sound effects are alright.
Suggestions: Less hype could ahve gotten them better reviews. The movement areas need to be at least twice as larger.

Manhunter
Date reviewed: December 7, 2004.

Overall: This was my first RPG, but I found it an
amazing and immersive game. I love
fantasy and this puts you right into a
magical kingdom of trolls, evil fairies,
werewolves and magicians. I loved the
quests, the weapons, the wide variety of
magic spells. And the music by Danny
Elfman is just amazing. I have already
conquered the game -- just wish it had
more quests, like twice as many as it
already has.
Gameplay: You start as a young lad and grow into an
adult (I was 62 when the game ended).
You get married, you have sex, you build
experience and become stronger, you buy
houses and engage in many many battles
with creatures and bandits. It is amazing
to see your fighting skills improve.
Creatures that were really hard to kill at
first are taken out with one or two swipes
by the end.
Graphics: Simply beautiful. Run through dark
forests, bustling villages, past sparkling
rivers, or along ancient cliffs. This game
looks great and really takes you away from
the real world. This helped me recover
from the reelection of George W. Bush,
which had me depressed for a few weeks
there. The colors and textures in the
game are awesome.
Sound: Any discussion of the sound must begin
and end with the music. This has some of
the best original music of any game out
there. I was not surprised to learn that the
theme was written by Danny Elfman. This
music would fit perfectly into a fantasy
film. The voice-acting is also top notch,
as are the environmental sounds and
battle noises. Crank this game up on your
surround system and enjoy the world of
Fable!
Suggestions: You have already built a great world with
cool quests. I think you simply need to
build onto it and make the game longer.
First, slow down how fast the character
ages. I'd rather end the game as a thirty-
year-old rather than a 60-year-old.
Double or triple the number of optional
quests. Also, give us more stuff to do with
our money. I had quite a chunk of change
on hand at the end, but nothing to spend
it on since I already had the best weapons.

Overall: A virtual reality world where every action has a consequence. You begin as a young boy who grows up to become a known Hero. Choose your path, good or evil.
You can get married to both men and women. You obtain scars from battles. You can be strong, fast, guile and even fat. The whole game feels very realistic and has a very good RPG element.
The down side to this is that its too short.
Gameplay: Gameplay can be complex at first but the training at a very early stage of the game is highly useful. Gets you started straight away.
Graphics: Visually it is the best looking game even for an RPG. The scenery looks lush and lively. Everything is full of activity and life. It really brings out the true essense of a fairy tale world. The characters are well modelled that it can be easily mistaken for a real life being. The NPC however could have done a little more work. They almost look the same as each other. Any town I go to, theres the same guy from the previous town I went to.
Sound: The sound of the whole environment is indeed very realistic and with the use of the music composed by Danny Elfman it really does bring life to it. The voice acting is excellent and very British indeed. The NPC however are limited to amount of words. It feels like they're saying the same stuff over and over again. Also they seem to have the same voice as each other.
Suggestions: Longer
If they allowed us to carry on after the game at least give us more quests to do or even have a quest generator. It seems rather boring playing the game after completion of the main plot.
More weapons
More secrets
More clothing/armour
More potions
Being able to learn new things as you go along rather than learning everything at a very young and early age.
More creatures to fight. Like Kraken or the giant scorpion.

Overall: Well... here we are... we finally get fable, but the quetion is ''was it worth the wait'' HELL YEAH!!
fable is the brilliant RPG that the Xbox has been crying out for, it boasts unique varied and fun gameplay, beatiful graphics and atmospheric music. Environments are beautiful and authentic, as are the charcters and just about every part of this game. Although there is limited replay value, it does not affect what is without doubt one of the best games on xbox, and THE best RPG.
Gameplay: I am relatively new to the RPG scene, but fables tense, action packed and often funny style of gameplay has inspired me. you have to look after your self in fable in many ways, for example: Eat too much and you get fat, and people will tease you, but eat too little and you get skinny... and people will tease you. (you just cant win!!) Yesterday I got married, bought a house, talked to a wall, and helped a ghost find his treasure!! and before you start calling the men in white coats, ''I am talking about IN the game!!''
there really is so much to do, so many people to see, so much to buy... Fable really is a huge game. Environments are stunning, and although there is a bit of running back and forward, it does'nt get boring... there is always things to do, people to see, places to go... the game doesnt stop offering things to do... even after you have finished it, but still, there remains little replay value.
So far I have told you the good things, and yes there is a great amount of good things... but there is some bad, like for instance, we were promised a lot in fable and those promisses just were not delivered upon... one example is the real-time growing trees and the completly open ended story for fable.
During the development of fable, we were promised a game in which the word linear did not exist, we were told that the story was crafted around your actions, as opposed to your actions round the story. Well this is not true, sure you can do a lot in fable... but the story is as linear as a pencil. Although gameplay was not what we were promised at all, it is still some of the best you will find... with mini games, and all the added extras, fables gameplay alone is what it should be played for.
Graphics: Fable is without doubt one of the most beautiful games on xbox, It is not made out to be realistic view of the world, it is made out to look amazing... and that is how it looks. indoor and out door locations are all pre-loaded... so there is no annoying loading screen when you want to go inside a building! trees are really amazing, each leaf seems to have been crafted individually, and the sunlight is gently filtered through the trees where is is scattered upon the ground. buildings also make great use of the xbox's power, windows give off a great shine effect, and interiors and exteriors complement the games fantasy style.
Some of the best water effects on xbox can be witnessed in fable, reflecting everything around it, with ripples created by fish. Yes fable is a really beautiful game, but there are a few very slight down points, for example.. texture effects often seem a bit flat, and there are some slight glitches with loading scenery a bit like pop up... but despite these small complaints it does not take away from the truely beautiful visual quality of this game.
Sound: sound is excellent, music just adds to the mood of the game, and again complements its fantasy style very well. If you are in a scary area, the music will just add to that sense of scariness... or if you are in a beautiful area the music will just enhance that.
Like just about every other part of fable the sound quality is great... character voices are brilliant, as are environments and music. It really sounds great.
It is safe to say that fable is as good to listen to as it is to play... and it plays great
Suggestions: multiplayer... and live

Overall: Although Fable isn't what it was made out to be, you have to look past the disapointment and see what this games really all about. Stunning graphics, Amazing gameplay and overall just a great game!
Gameplay: This is the first RPG you can actually play over again without getting bored. No matter if you are evil or good this game will consume you to the point where you do not ever want to stop playing. The great thing about this game is that you can do anyhting you want. For instance go on a killing spree, steal, marry someone. Its all there just waiting for you.
Graphics: As I said before the graphics are truly stunning. All of the weapons and armor look great and there is not one visual aspect in the game that is faulty or cheaply done.
Sound: Although i rarely care about sound I have to say that the music and sound effects in this game are great even though sometimes they get a little repetitive but the same can be said about almost all games.
Suggestions: When you say things are going into the game, next time please actually put them into the game.

Overall: My god, this game is in fact awe-inspiring. The opening videos alone had the hairs on my kneck standing. the awesome visuals from the start. superb. From what ive seen of the game so far into it, im already addicted. The fact that im being called Chicken Chaser because i kicked a couple of chickens in my childhood is qutie amusing, and shows just how in Depth this game actually goes. Aswell as that, i love the effect your alignment has on people. I killed a few people for laughing at me, just for the fun of it, and now when people are walking by me they say things like dont annoy him. or they run in the opposite direction when they see me coming.
Gameplay: The gameplay is magnificent, the controls were a bit dodgy to begin with, but after a while(roughly 10 mins) thats forgoten about. Although the magic selection once you get about 9 or 10 spells can get a bit heated when surrouded by werewolves or other fiends in the arena.
Graphics: Awe inspiring, the best ive seen so far on any game titles. The visuals of monsters like the Balverines are amazing.
Sound: Sound is quite good. changes to the mood of the game. Battle sounds are amazing, and when you sneer, laugh at people it sounds real. Another thing im quite fond of is that when people are shouting it doesnt just disappear it gets quieter as you move away.

Overall: Fable is one of the greatest rpgs I have played. It is the first game to make me feel like I am in a world that I can interact with.
Gameplay: The gameplay is great. It was quick if you just ran through the storyline without doing anything in the world. I have played for fifteen or so hours and have a lot of the story yet to go.
Graphics: The graphics are great and the monsters are even better. The magic effects are great and really draw you into the game.
Sound: The music, sound effects and voice overs are done superbly. The music changes according to the situation you are in.

Overall: Overall this was a great game. However it was nowhere near what i expected from a game that has been in the making for so many years. I think it is the best RPG on the Xbox but visually could have been much better and there could have been so many more quests and little games added to make Fable what it was expected to be. For a game so hyped it should have been more lengthy like the Final Fantasy series. Since this game wasnt online it needed to last a long time without being beaten to stay one of the best. It didnt though and the bosses were the easiest ive ever played.
Gameplay: Its a very fun game. Easy to control and you can interact with the characters very well. I found the game too easy though. It should have been much more of a challenge for how long it was in the making and should have been way longer.
Graphics: This site looks good but it really isnt as nice as i thought it would be. Theres glitches where the environment is all one solid color at times and it really seems like an older style game. But the environment is huge so this is something i really enjoy. Also i enjoy how what you do in the game affects how you look visually.
Sound: Sounds pretty good. Voice overs are done well in this game. I would have liked the screams and battle noises to be more realistic and exciting.

Overall: at first, i was in awe. now its ok, was hoping for too much i guess before it came out on shelves. ..
Gameplay: game play was fairly easy once you got used to the 8 different directional pad combintaions for quick or short cuts for potions, or magic. etc.. i beat the game in less than 15 hours.... that sucks!@
Graphics: graphics were good, especially how you progress and you see a close up of your face all scarred up..
Sound: dolby digital surround sound, very good.. but i don't really pay attention to the music when i play, however the voices are pretty funny, saying chicken chaser at the begining of the game.
Suggestions: yeah make it longer like add 50 more quests so i won't beat it in less than 15 hours..

Overall: While endless comparisons between this title and KOTOR and Morrowind abound...I am going to be original and rate this game on it's merits alone, no this is not Project Ego, this is Fable and it is good. A game that sucks you in at the start...everything you do, kill, sell, wear, eat and (sometimes) don't do makes a difference in this title...those of you who like customizing, here it is in full. Maybe the game is a little short, but with with so many gamers who have short attetnion spans anyway, this is just long enough to keep you interested before it starts to get really drawn out.
Gameplay: While the controls would have been a bit better having been made to be customizable, they work well nonetheless. Everything comes together very well and makes for an immersive and memorable experience...especially taking the added challenge of boasts and taking the time to do and find EVERYTHING...and when you are done...you can continue on and build your character even more and keep your characters life going in the world you helped to shape.
Graphics: Absolutely great...it's the little things that make it great...scars, hair in the wind affects, tats, cleavage, lighting on armor and weapons...some may gripe that too much time and space was put on graphics, but when your mouth gaps and makes you stare in disbelief, the wait was worht it.
Sound: I have been a fan of Danny Elfman for a while (from movie themes suchas MIB and Spiderman) just to name a paultry few...the effects in game...spells, weapons, creatures, water, dialouge...all done very, very well...oncce again, some may say too much or maybe not enough...but it is just right here again.
Suggestions: A sequel would be nice...stick to the same formula for this first one with few changes and you will have another title that outsells the box office seller of that week too...

Overall: It was supposed to the game where you could do anything. Travel around the world. Stepping on a green leaf has a different effect than stepping on a brown leaf. Well, if you're looking for another Morrowind, this isn't the game. It can be very free, but theres so much restriction. Everything seems to have a defined path, rather than complete freedom. This isn't what the developers advertised it as. Why is it that when I step on a certain color leaf, walk a certain speed, or don't talk to children I see no change in character. This isn't what I was promised. Now, I can't complain about that, because that would be too true to life for the sake of a video game. In fact, I think it would be quite disgusting. Its a good game though. Not that "Best RPG for the Xbox" that we were all expecting. You might as well stick with your KOTOR if you want that.
Gameplay: The gampeplay is ok. Nothing spectacular. It reminds me a lot of the game Enclave. The fighting is in real time and can get frustrating if you are the kind of person who doesn't enjoy the same hack-slash-magic-arrow-more magic type of thing. O well.
Graphics: The graphics are fine. Nothing splendid. Come on people, by this time you should have a game with good voice acting. You've been working on the game since the Xbox came out, yet you can't get voice acting down! UGH!!!!!! I don't know what else to say for this except I'm being generous.
Sound: I'm not a sound geek. I don't know how to judge sound. I have no idea what the specifications are for the game. Sound is sound to me. I don't have 5.1 so I can't judge it based on that.
Suggestions: Voice syncing. EXCESSIVE LOAD TIMES!!! TOO MUCH LOADING!

Overall: Fable...It's not what we expected though it was still fun. As you will read everywhere, IT'S TOO SHORT! but this doesn't stop me from exploring the game more and having fun.
Gameplay: Ok so the combat system is a novice's dream at first but it develops as you have to use block and dodge as well as back attacks. The quests are fun but you'll find there's not enough
Graphics: Graphics seem to be their main focus in this game. I wish they would've developed the story more though but to admit it, the graphics are the best I have seen. Featuring a choice of tattoo's and Haircuts as well as facial hair it' provides a more in-depth visual part of the game.
Sound: The sound is awesome as well. It goes with the places and even though it's the same music it doesn't seem to be too repetitive to make you dislike it. The fx are great, and the speech is the best. Everyone has something to say and nothing stops them from saying it except a sword.
Suggestions: More quests, Better combat system, more spells, bigger world, more haircuts, tattoos and weapons.

Make this game like project ego was projected to be! I expected to control my character's growth and appearance from childhood to death, giving complete control over the game but you give us this cheesey super nintendo storyline and mix it in which doesn't make things fun. The biggest suggestion of all, MAKE THIS MORE OF A SIMULATION THAN RPG! thats what everyone was looking for, A game where you make the story and you make your hero not by following someone else's story.

Overall: I had heard about all the hype for this game for a long time, and never really read anything about the game. I'm not a big RPG fan so that's why I wasn't very interested. Well, this game kicks ass. It doesn't live up to the hype because a lot of things were promised that didn't make it into the game. But, it's still a great game.
Gameplay: To me this game seems like more of a hack and slash then an RPG, but it's great. The combat is perfect and the controls are great. The quests are sometimes fun and sometimes stupid. The worst ones are when you have to guard someone and that type of thing. The villages are cool and it's kinda open-ended. What makes it seem not very open ended is the loading between certain areas of the game. Another gripe I have is that you can't save during a quest.
Graphics: Graphics are great and the characters look amazing. The environments look good too.
Sound: Everything sounds great and the voice acting is pretty good.
Suggestions: Make Fable 2, but let us save during the quest and less loading.

Overall: if i had not heard of this game before i would think it as f***ing amazing, but since my expecations were higher than you can get on PCP, im a little dissapointed... i haven't played through the whole quest, but since i have almost all of the loctions on the map, i think it is nearing the end... that is the main problem so far... but since im no tsure of that yet, it stilll deserves 5/5 for everthing else it has to offer. i would give it 4.5/5 but for the other low scoring reviews, i just want its score boosted...
Gameplay: the gameplay is great imho... the battleing system is great, one of the best on the console.. it can be a hack and slash if you like it to be, which will work fine, but i prefer to use stategy and other buttons besides X (sword attack), which enhances the gameplay for me. the marrying system isn't as good as i thought it would be, but the fact that you can marry a man is so hilarious to me that i am willing to overlook it. i like teh good/evil system so far, too. i could go on and on about the little details but im too lazy... 4.5/5, nuff said
Graphics: some of the best graphics ive ever seen, hands down... halo 2 will definitely beat them, but that doesn't count...
Sound: i have one word for the soundtrack: WOW! i mean, it is just amazing.. the music sounds good by itself, but then you factor in how much of it there is, how it changes for different scenes, etc. and they are just amazing... i have yet to get annoyed or bored with the music selection after about 8 (?) hours of play, unlike morrowind, which is the best rpg ever made, no contest, which has the most annoying music ever, especially after 40+ hours of play (yes, i was addicted, but i went morrowind-holics anonymous and i have been morrowind free for 4 months, give or take)
Suggestions: oh yes, i definitely have some MAJOR suggestions...
1. make the story longer you poxy sods!!!
2. bigger map, hence more exploring capabilites
3. more (and more interesting) side quests
4. its too easy to get renown, make it harder
5. too hard to get gold (outside of quests that is)... make the quests offer less gold and some way to get gold easier outside of the quests...
6. how the hell did i get to be 47 10 days after i was 18? i just don't understand that... it just baffles me...
11. easter eggs?
12. evrything above 100 million times over

if big blue box would have done those things, maybe less of some, more of some, and some other interesting things i havent thought of, they would have the best rpg ever imho, better then morrowind (maybe) and better than all of the final fantasy game put together....

oh yeah, i forgot, more weapons, more armor, more tattoos, more haircuts, more augmentations, everything more in-depth, i want EVERYTHING in fable 2... now get to work!

Overall: Four years we waited as Fable revealed and receded exciting features like multiplayer and a world that sounded limitlessly open ended. It would be unfair to judge this game on what it once had on the table, so a reviewer must forget the old features and look at the game in its own light. In Fable, the story is pretty straight forward. Bandits attack your city when you are a child, and you seek vengeance and hone your skills in the Guild of Heroes. I will not go on, however. - I am sure you all have read all about it in the years of waiting. The story is rather uninspired, however.
Gameplay: Fable is rather linear in the direction of advancing the plot. Getting married and investing in real estate are small features pushed far into the background of the plot itself. Quests are especially linear and technical. The boast system, though, is excellent. Replacing a difficulty setting, you can boast, prior to the quest, to, say, defeat bandits without armor. This system is superiour to difficulty, because it gives the player a better level of customization. The combat is pretty straight forward and especially satisfying as each hit gives you a collision-ensuring splash of color and a grunt. In general, Fable feels more like an action game forced through a roleplaying game slot. Some elements are too technically supported by the interface, in my opinion.
Graphics: The visuals in Fable give the game character, but most of all, are simply exceptional. Detail is overwhelming, from the fuzz on the back of your character's legs to intricate architecture. The critique that is consistant through Fable reviews is the overuse of the bloom effect. Other than that, the game is very pleasant, especially in the day (as Fable has a real time day-night timing).
Sound: The sound is one of the biggest pros of the game. You will recognize music similar to the track all over the trailers, and just as good, all throughout the game. Music is also context sensitive. In the presence, the track facilitates from a slow to heated up, clearly depicting a battle. Along with the exceptional music scores, battle is also satisfying due to the meaty melee hits, magical sprees, and arrow whipping sounds. It is also noteworthy to add that every line of text in the game has its own audio clip to play with it.
Suggestions: A longer game would have been appreciated.
