Overall: MechAssault is the first mech game game on the market for the Xbox and no mech game since has lived up to the standards this one set. Great value at only $20, Platinum Hits title.
Gameplay: Whether you are playing single player or on Xbox Live, this game delivers a lasting impression. The single player game has many levels and nine mechs to choose from, that is when you get them. Tons of weapons, but each mech is different, they all pack a punch. If you get bored with the single player campaign you can always go onto Live and play people.
Graphics: The mechs and environments look realistic. The environments, from the cars to high-rise building are all destructible, looks amazing when they blow up. Just stay away from the mechs when they blow up, just a little hint.
Sound: Everything sounds good, the voice-overs are done well and the explosions and weapons sound very nice.
Suggestions: Great game, keep up the good work.

Overall: I totally forgot to review this game! Lets start it up, I really loved this game, the missions were great and so was live! (Excluding the fact that no one goes on anymore).
Gameplay: The gameplay was great, the controls are a bit complicated at first, but thats what practice is for. The live was fun (no one goes on anymore), and the battles are pretty big (especially capture the flag), but it can get a bit repetious.
Graphics: Visually this game dominated. Each mech concept was very uniqe and highly detailed. I loved the interactive environments too. The explosions, and fire looked very reall too.
Sound: Machine guns firing, lasers blasting, bombs exploding, who can ask for more? But theres one thing I really missed, the pilots talking! There wasn't much dialogue.
Suggestions: Make a dedicated server option! More game modes.

Overall: I only have one word to describe this game...Perfect. Ive had it since it came out and Im still not tired of playing it. This game is by far the best console video game I have ever played with the exception of maybe Papa Halo.
Gameplay: Perfect. The controls allow you to maneuver your mech in precise and virtually realistic movements. Controls are very comfortable while playing and work extremly well online.
Graphics: Do I have to keep saying it! Perfect! I love playing this game because I love watching this game. It is so detailed. From falling buildings to destructible enviornments. Explosions, weapons fire, tiny soldiers running for their puny lives. This game looks beautiful and is graphically flawless.
Sound: God Damn F%&!@ing Amazing! I love playing multiplayer with the surrond sound turned up. Makes me feel like Im actually kicking butt on the battlefield. Again, Perfect.
Suggestions: Thank you for bringing this incredible game and its predesessor to the xbox. Were not worthy! Were not worthy!

Overall: The first and best 'Mech game on the Xbox,Mechassault continues to long and addicting legacy of the Mechwarrior series. While some veterans will be turned off by the lack of traditional features (Customozation, etc.),Mechassault is a great place to start for people new to the franchise. This game rules all 'Mech games (Well, for me atleast.). Buy it,play it,love it.
Gameplay: The gameplay controls are easy to grasp. They're quick and responsive as well. When you push a button, the game responds with no time at all.
Graphics: The graphics are highly detailed and realistic. This is easily the best looking Mechwarrior game yet.
Sound: If there's any place where the game falls a little short,it's here. The voice acting is top notch, the sounds are realistic. The music though, while rather catchy,is quite repeditive, the same theme often being used over and over.
Suggestions: I can't really think of anything. Keep up the good work Microsoft!

Overall: Very fun Mech shooter. Stomp, stomp, stomp, bang, bang, bang, boom, boom, boom. The single player missions are varied and there are lots of Mechs and variations to choose from. The weapons are great fun and all the buildings are destructible. I don't have xbox live and i'm told i'm missing the best part of the game which is probably true but two player is good enough for me.
Gameplay: As I said, You just go stomping around in huge 100 ton robots zapping stuff and stepping on stuff. Jolly good fun.
Graphics: Best part of the game. Great explosions and incredible mech explosions. It looks like the mech is getting exorcised! Cool...Pretty good water effects and very good fire effects, and oh..my..god..LAVA WATERFALLS!!!!!!Thumbs up.
Sound: Needs some improvement. The voice acting is great but when you step on people, instead of hearing a fully fledged wail of pain and terror, all you get is a meas
Suggestions: 4 player local Xbox and bigger mechs with more weapons.

Overall: Good Multiplayer game. Since this was my first Xbox LIVE game I never played single player so I can't make any comments on that. I think I will go play some after I review this! Great LIVE play!
Gameplay: Good gameplay like I said Since this was my first Xbox LIVE game I never played single player so I can't make any comments on that. I think the Mechs are cool and so are the levels and the downloadable content.
Graphics: Great Viual Graphics! I love the levels and how the buildings look when you shoot them down. I also love how the mechs look when the blow up.
Sound: Great gun, missle, etc sound. I love how the mechs sound when they are "stomping" around on the ground. I would suggest to play a CD or something while playing multiplayer because there is like no music.
Suggestions: Great Game!

Overall: I really enjoyed Single Player. The missions varied and were well created. As the game progressed, the levels got harder and harder.
Gameplay: The gameplay was beautiful. AS the agme progressed, levels got harder and harder. The enemies also varied. From mechs, to tanks, to infantry. Local Xbox multiplayer was not so great. I'm sure it would be better online, unfortunately I don't have the right connection, nor the money for it
Graphics: What can I say? the visuals were incredible, from blowing dust, to water, ice and snow. The explosions were spectacular.
Sound: Kudos on the sound Microsoft. Explosions rocked you ears. Just playing the game was music to my ears. Again, good job microsoft

Overall: A very good game for Xbox and Xbox Live. Many of the mechs from the original PC game Mechwarrior made it onto this port, and much more time and development was given to detail, level design, effects and controls.
Gameplay: The controls definitely make up alot for past games in the series and they also make eveything feel easy to do and execute. Plus, it is fun to walk all over the attacking infantry and hear the squishing sounds.
Graphics: The mechs, buildings, explosions, weapons, weapon affects and environments all look great, lots of detail, and very little if no clipping.
Sound: While not the central focus for this title, the voice talent, mech noises, weapon sounds get the job done. Background music, what there is of it, is kind of placating, but picks up only when something is going to attack.

Overall: This game is all round awsome , the
visuals, skill level, controls, and
smoothness of the levels are all there. It
is a great game online oas well as solo.
Its challenging addictive and great fun.
Gameplay: It is super smooth the levels are detailed
and the controls are easy to remember.
the levels provide a challenge, but not an
impossible one. Even the multiplayer
levels are new and interesting . Just
seeing what could be blown up and what
couldn't was fun . And the explosions, oh
man. Talk about sweet.
Graphics: OH MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Two words can
describe the visuals. SHEAR
PERFECTION! nuf said.
Sound: The sound could have been improved.
And personally I believe more music or
even custom soundtracks should have
been available to use. The explosion
sound was also lacking when the mechs
blow up their should have been a big
boom, but the screams of civilians made
up for it .
Suggestions: Make custom soundtracks available
make a ragnarock and ymir
downloadable and most importantly
make a sequel and continue kickin' ass!!

Overall: the thing that attracted me to this game was the noticeably lower price tag... overall a good game, i dont have xbox live, and so i was forced to stick to campaign mode... which i thought was was ver good... i feel that for me to enjoy this games full potential i would have to purchase xbox live... which i am definatly going to do! but i still feel that this game doesnt use the xbox's power to it's full potential.
Gameplay: controls are very easy to get used to, and gameplay is fun, but not as smooth as it could be. i would have prefered to be able to fight some missions along-side a friendly army of mechs, against an enemy army of mechs. overall----- gameplay is good..... but could be better
Graphics: when i first played this game i was dissapointed at the graphics quality of the game, and am still not impressed... the detail of the mechs is good enough, but could be better. and explosions of buildings is good also... but the landscapes, and terrain detail is not good, and water effects are not good at all, overall this game does not visually use the xbox's power to it's potential.----- not good graphics, should be a lot better for an xbox game.
Sound: sound is ok, the sound of mech explosions, buildings collapsing and mechs walking is good, but music is not good, and overall sound quality is bad. could be better.
Suggestions: if you make another mech game-------------- make the graphics a lot better.... have a war mode, that lets you fight with 100's of friendly mechs, against 100's of enemy mechs..... and have alternative views, like a detailed cockpit view and plent of others, and you should be able to rotate your view... thats all!

Overall: The game looks, sounds and feels very good. The one player campaign is good but the online gameplay is very addictive.
Gameplay: There are two reasons why this is a very good game. The first is the control system which feels very natural to use. The second and by far the most important is the online play using Xbox Live.
Graphics: Just look at the explosions and watch as skyscrapers and bridges collapse. You will look on with your mouth gaping open. The animation of the mechs are also super smooth.
Sound: With a high quality 5.1 system with a large active sub installed, you will hear sonic booms everytime a large mech explodes. The whole room shakes with the explosion. The other sound effects are wonderful. The music is nothing special, but then it isn't required in a game of this type.
Suggestions: (1)Improve the lobby system on Xbox live.

(2)Allow people to see their friends ranking.

(3)Remove the brat voice mask.

(4)A powerup that cools down mechs very fast.

Overall: All in all a fun Mech game. However, now exactly my type of game, I don't think. The multiplayer certainly adds to it and makes it that much better, however. Personally, I think the multipalyer shines above the single player game.
Gameplay: The controls are pretty simple and it's pretty quick to pick up. The game is quite fun, but definitely becomes repetitive after a while and loses its appeal
Graphics: The visuals in this game are definitely nice. I really enjoy seeing buildings crumble after you shoot at them. Also, the proportions of the Mechs to the buildings and the people are good, which adds to the realism of them game.
Sound: No real complaints about the soundtrack. Nothing horrible, nothing extrordinary. Middle of the road, as far as I'm concerned.
Suggestions: I'd say work with the single player a bit more. Also four player split screen would be nice.

Overall: The game itself is a decent game, if played online, however, the game is not very good offline. It gets boring and pointless doing the same thing over and over. XBOX live play is the only thing that saves this game from being trash.
Gameplay: The controls are very easy to learn and use, and the downloadable content amazed me. I didn't think it would be that good, I didn't think they would offer so much! As for single-play.. it just bores me.
Graphics: The graphics are not that good in my opinion. The mechs look nice up close, but the fire, weapon, and building explosion effects are all poor. The XBOX can do much better.
Sound: The sound is what you would expect. Boom, bang, crash, boom, bang, etc.. not very exciting but it doesn't hurt the game.
Suggestions: Make single-player more fun.. improve the SFX.

Overall: Dang, I purchased this game, and didnt play it... Only wathced my brother play it, and they only played it cuz it was 2 player on live. It looked stupid offline, and pointless online. I mean, if u like going in circles shooting, this is the game for you.!
Gameplay: I hated this part... Just by watching. It was sad. Offline was repitition at its worst. Online, it was circular shooting, like i mentioned before. I hate it, it makes me dizzy and sick!
Graphics: The graphics aren't very good. The mechs look TIGHT though. The weapons firing look like crap. I was really disappointed. This is the last time i will take my friends word for it!
Sound: Uhh. The sounds are exactly as they seem they would be. Bangboom , ha, bam bam bam, "u suck" (opponent on live) DEAD. wow, i cant stand it, the sounds are quite annoying, but dont take away from this game

Overall: well being a Battletech junkie i asked...hurm... begged for this game for Christmas. Big mistake, it has almost nothing to do with battletech other then the name and basic concept. It was a game that had a an excellent back round universe to draw from but the designers decide to flush all the old concepts down the drain. good for some but any battle tech fan this game is a tremendous disappointment
Gameplay: Dummy style controls that any wannabe mech pilot can master are one of the biggest mistakes, horrible weapons selection, all the weapons have homing which completely destroys the game play. all you have to do it point the big reticule at the enemy (its like 1/4 of your screen) and its almost always hits. the total abandonment of tried and true battletech game mechanics destroys the challenge and realism of the classic battletech game. and one of the biggest mistakes of all... all the mechs can do complete 180s with there torso... even the battle armor suits (must be a really stretchy guy to totally twist around the hips over and over).
Graphics: despite the total lacking of game play and story line, it is a very visually pleasing game. the destructibility of every building, and the varying levels of damage to almost every thing in the game is a far cry from being just another mech game of the past. everything looks shiny and real. this is one thing the programmers didn't mess up
Sound: nothing spectacular.. annoying voices with phony emotional distress at everything, basic gun sounds, and the classic thumping of a big mech walking could be worse.. but its satisfactory enough.
Suggestions: dear god! Read a battle tech novel! actually read a few... you can't just go around making up your own little battletech universe just because you can't be bothered to do the research or make a game that fits in. Also play a few oh the old school games like mech2 and mech3.. they have the real deal game play ...oh then read another battle tech book.... maybe you will come up with something that actually fits into the battle tech universe.

Overall: This game requires little skill, but it is very fun when you're playing over live. The leraning curve on this game is a few minutes, but the satisfaction of playing in a team over live is great. People seem to communicate more through this game than any other on live. The mechs in this game all have their own specialties, and they are big!
Gameplay: single player... multi player... live... those are basically youre three choices. When you have beaten Single player, you unlock a new character. the new character seems to be the most dominant on e in the game, and can be used unfairly over live... for some reason. each mech has their own weaknesses and strengths. Overall.. they all seem slow to me. Killing mechs also takes a long time. Some mechs can fly and other have heavier weight, but have stronger damage resistance. Be careful not to spam too much, because you can overheat your mech causing delay in attacking.
Graphics: I really wished this game were first person. This is the first ever mech game I've played thats third person. Its different, and it makes the game easier. the graphics are decent in relation to steel batallion.
Sound: music in the background... each weapon has their own distinct sound... explosions... what can I say about the sound?
Suggestions: first person... less hp for each mech... faster paced.

Overall: OK, I bought this game with Xbox Live in mind, and somehow, I was utterly dissapointed. The actual game is okay, nothing great like the reviews say IMO, but not bad at all either.
Gameplay: This game is not as complex as Mechwarrior. This may be good or bad, depending on who you are. For me, this was a good thing. I was never really a fan of Mechwarrior, but since this game was to have more action, I picked it up. My main jist with this game is that when playing a game of deathmatch(Destruction as they call it) if you are in a 2 on 1 situation, you are most likely done for. The game is just whoever has more and puts out more firepower. Unlike other games wehere being on the disadvantaged side can be an adavangtage in its own, this game has none of that.
Graphics: This is where the game shines most. The graphics are top notch, and the site of destruction and mayhem in this game is truley something to marvel at.
Sound: The sound is actually pretty cool. THe sound effects are nice, plus the rockish music in the big battles is also cool!
Suggestions: I don't know what specifically you should do, but make the game more exciting! Maybe once the CTF mode comes out I will pick this game up again.

Overall: Tremendously fun multiplayer. This game is awesome with very few areas in which it is lacking. The single player is pretty cool too.

I gave it 5/5 because it has downloadable content :)

I think like counterstrike, it will always be fun to pull out MechAssault and have a game now and then, even a long time from now.
Gameplay: This game is cool as it is, with good controls and fun gameplay. But I think the next mechassault game (you know there will be another) should be more jetpack oriented with taller buildings and falling damage.

It also needs more multiplayer modes such as Godzilla. It would be helpful if they showed who was speaking in an xbl match, similar to motoGP.

Other than that, this game is really fun.
Graphics: Mech Assault has great graphics. Nothing too exciting, but maybe I've just been desensitized to great graphics by splinter cell :)
Sound: The sounds again are good but nothing too awesome. You don't notice them being particularly good or bad when you're focused on the gameplay.
Suggestions: Classes of Mech: Lightweight, Heavyweight etc

more jetpack oriented gameplay w/ falling damage & taller buildings

customizeable mechs?

Overall: It's a pretty fun game overall, the single player is average at best. However, this game is pretty cool on live, that should be the main reason people buy this game.
Gameplay: Controls are good, however, it doesn't seem like i use the red/blue/yellow buttons at all which is cool for some people cause the controls are so simple, however, the gameplay is a little TOO simple for me. Playing this game on xbox live is also pretty great, however, it gets old. Hopefully the new CTF mode will get people back into this game.
Graphics: The graphics are great. Water and falling building effects add a lot to the game. Visuals are probably up there with Halo.

Overall: This game rocks ! It is the most fun Instant Action game I own, and I own about 25.

Gameplay: The Mission segment of the game is fun, however, the real draw of the game is the multiplayer and XBL gameplay. You can log-in and play for 10 minutes or for hours and not get bored.

Plus, with the XBL communicator you can talk trash with the other players, which adds another element.
Graphics: The visuals are good. One of the most seamless games I have.

Sound: The 5.1 Dolby Digital sound rocks on my sound system. It sounds like thunder coming from my game room with the bass up.
Suggestions: The single player is a bit lacking in the Missions. It would have been amore fun to play Multi on the Missions.

Also, if you had a Password screen in place to unlock different Mechs and Skins, it would be more enjoyable than just completing the missions.
This games real draw was the XBL features.

Gameplay: The game pits you in a highly powerful mech. You fight through a single player campaign, as well as split screen and XBOX live multiplayer. In just the single player mode, the game got fairly boring for me. When you play multiplayer modes the game is a blast though. The battles are fun and the destruction is even better.

Graphics: the graphics and textures were mediocre to say the least and you would expect much better visuals from the big black box.while the frame rate was'nt a problem but this was'nt on par with other xbox games graphically.
Sound: the sound effects are nice but they dont truly immerse u into the game.they just pass and while they are not annoying sound effects in this game are nothing to rave avout!

Overall: This action fanatics game puts you into the cockpit of over 15 huge and diverse mechs... Each mech has its own advantages and disadvantages, so choosing the right mech is vital...
Gameplay: The gameplay consists of just blowing stuff up... Whether its 12 year old squeky voice punks on xbox live or the pretty decent AI, just fire your weapons and take em down... Online there is basically deathmatch, and newly added CTF... There are many weapons that go with each mech...
Graphics: Visually this game is very good... The maps each have their own terrians and features, and also everything in the levels are destructable... So that means you can take down an enemy Mech, by just shooting a building down on top of them...
Sound: The game's sound is nothing special, but gets the job done... The whizzing of the torpedos, and burning of buildings compliments the strong action of the game...

Overall: MechAssault is NOT a clever game, but it really doesn't matter. It's perfect if you just feel like blowing something up...!
Gameplay: The gameplay is cool.. Well at least the multiplayer part is! I must say that the singleplayer part is really boring, the story seems, to me, to be an excuse for braindead action..The multiplayer part is definately the cool part of the game, and I'm talking about xbl-multiplayer. My advice: if you don't have xbl, don't buy this game! You'll get tired of singleplayer in no time, however, if you have xbl, I can definately reccomend this title!
Graphics: The graphics are all right, nice mech-animations and nice effects (explosions, weather etc.) But the landscapes are all boring, and the graphicsengine looks a little to old to me, but when you're in the midst of a battle, you don't really notice any of this, so it doesn't matter much to me.
Sound: Aah yes, the sound! The sound impressed me pretty much when I first played the game (well it still does), the game really uses 5.1 surround perfectly right! I especially like the nice subwoofed explosions...
Suggestions: More mechs.. But I think they're working on that :)

Moon Man

Overall: Good game. Big fan of the Mechwarrior series for PC. X-Box version is very different from PC version. Of course each PC version is drastically different from the last. As a former Mech 4 online league player, I was looking for another Mech 4, unfortunately, I didn't find it.
Gameplay: X-box controls are wierd for Mechwarrior. This game MUST have a joystick with rudder control and first person perspective. The X-box controller just has too many things for your fingers to do while fighting. The ability to customize the controls, beyond two or three options, would have made the task of switching from joystick to gamepad easier. One big thing this title lacks over the PC version is the ability to customize mechs.
Graphics: Visuals are great. The game does need the ability to switch between third and first person perspective though.
Sound: Great sounds, no complaints. The voice acting is superb. In single player, right off when your commanding officer is riding the tech for using part from heavy mechs to build a smaller mech. That was a good laugh.
Suggestions: Joystick, first person perspective, cusomizable mechs, customizable controls.
The Mechwarrior universe has moved on to Mechwarrior: Dark Age. I recommend a Dark Age based title with the changes listed above.

Overall: Awesome game! I was looking forward to this game ever since it was announced andit was worth the wait. Great graphics, great missions, cool mechs=awesome game!
Gameplay: In the game you take control of different mechs and as the game progresses you unlock new mechs. It is awesome how you can blow up everything! Everything in the game is destructible. In he game you fight other mechs, little infantry soldiers that you just step on. In most missions you have o destroy something. Awesome weapons on the mechs.
Graphics: Th graphics are great. You can see th glass shatter when you blow up a building. The mechs look good, too.
Sound: The sound is great. All the weapons sound the way they should. Custom soundtracks would have rocked in this game.
Suggestions: Make a sequel.

AC/DC Halo Man

Overall: This game over all, is pretty good. Good Campaign missions and good two player action. So if your looking for some explosive stomping and all out weapon using masacre, get this game.
Gameplay: Pretty good gameplay, one of the only games in which third person view is that good. Every 'Mech has there upsides, and their downsides. So you know when you are using a cougar, and your a novice, vs a guy with the prometheous and he's pretty good, he will win, no matter how fast you are to him, so like i said, get good, and kick butt, and discover the ups and downs of the mechs
Graphics: Sweet graphics, and explosions. The mechs and what not look sweet as cheeks and the shots of your weapons are neat to see, and to see where they come from instead of in first person view, so this is good too.
Sound: Sound Rocks! The explosive noises, the shots ringing, and everything else. This sound is good, its clear and crisp and there is no cracky stuff. Not to mension that hearing your victory against your enemy, is the best thing ever.
Suggestions: No nothing.
